Gimmicky disappointment
I traded a 2016 S550 for a 2016 750ix with very low miles on it. That was a big mistake. The ride and drive is better in the big Merc - and the new 750 feels soft and "un-BMW like". In addition, the front seats are better in the Merc. Finally, the iDrive technology in the new 750 is gimmicky and unreliable. It is constantly glitching with my iPhone and I have had it into a dealer 3 times to update the software to remove issues. Bottom line, BMW had 2 years after the S550 redesign to one up MB - and they embarrassed themselves by launching this poorly engineered car. I have owned many BMWs over the years, but this will likely be my last.

Ultimate luxury and power
Great car if you buy it used when it is 4 years old for 1/3 of the price of a new one. 465 HP, very smooth ride. I would recommend the M Sport version. The ride and the look are a bit sportier and the exhaust sounds throaty!! Lots of options and extras come as standard in this vehicle. Maintenance not so bad and not so expensive relative to Porsche. 4/2022: I have since sold my Beemer and moved on with a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Both cars are nice but I just wanted a change. BTW, right before trading my Beemer, the AC compressor went out and it cost $4,000 to replace it which was luckily paid out of extended maintenance program. But let me tell you that the standard maintenance on the Cayenne is not cheap guys.

Phenomenal performance with 31mpg
I was very leary of the 7-Series reliability, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. This is the finest, most refined car I’ve had/driven. I’ve owned hundreds of cars, from Subarus to Rolls Royce. I had the dealer do the Carbahn tune to 633hp for $1400. It was a 12.4 1/4 mile before at 440hp. It still delivers 31+ MPG at 75mph. Now at 80K miles, it’s still feels like new and is a great experience to drive. It’s amazing that a car this large and comfortable can deliver all this. These are really undervalued in the used car market.

Maybe some reviews got lemons
I have had at least six 7 series bummers and never had the issues pointed out in the 1 and 2 Star ratings. I do not use BMW for repair or service. My current 750 runs perfectly and is a joy to drive
