I have driven this car for 18 months. I used to fly to florida, now i drive from NC. It is the definetly a driving machine. Elegant yet ready to rumble. I don't know if many have noticed the 2001 has an artificialy limited top end of 155. It is a special version of the last of its model. I'm also dissapointed over the looks of the new 745. I always loved the 740.

wow!!this car has so far been a pleasure to own and drive.by far the most ultimate bmw in recent years.had a chance to buy a 2002 745i but instead chose 2001 7401.just as fun to drive as a 2002 745i but much better looking than the 745i.have received compliments many times by total strangers.great car period.

The 740i - sports package 00 or 01 is "the" car to drive. Speed, handling, cornering and road grip is unmatched. No other 4 door car can come close to the 740i - none. Too bad BMW ruined the 7 series and soon all series with that bulky, ugly, bubbly design. Shame on BMW for pulling such a stupid move. If you're looking for a great vehicle; try to find a 00 or 01 740i - sports package; miles 40K to 60K in the $28K range You will love it. Again, 740i not the IL

This is an awesome ride. Its quick and responsive and fun to drive. The stereo system is great to me, I feel like I'm in concert. It has an amphitheater feel. I'm glad it has the hidden cassette player because I still have some classics on cassette. I had to get used to the cd player being in the trunk. The navi system is well 01 so it won't be like the newer cars, but it works unless you go way out then it will just slap a map on the screen for you with no vocal instruction...good luck! All in all my dream car is just that a joy and a dream to drive. Yes BMW can mean Bring Money With you but if you get a trained mechanic you will do fine.
