This is my first BMW (not including my conv, which was my toy) and I must say it certainly beats my Benz and alll that preceeded it (Merecedes sinse 1986). Fast, quiet commfortable and a beauty. I have had it only two weeks but I just can't get over it. Before you drop $60M large try this thing, it's amazing.

The car I bought 535i x drive. Was a wolf in sheep's cloths. 3 weeks after I bought it. The water pump and thermostat went out. 2300$ to fix it. 3 months after that. Ignition coil and spark plugs another 900$. I can't wait for April. I'm trading it in. And going back to a Cadillac CTS 2 door coupe V.

Beauty to look at and exceptional drive

Bought it new and loaded with features both standard package and added specified to meet my requirements. Continues to be as pleasant to drive, both in Sport and in Comfort setting. Great powerful and smooth engine the line 6 double turbo. All combined with Xdrive and good summer or winter tires makes for reassuring drive under all conditions, dry, wet or snow. Driving position is excellent as is the road feel. Rear seats are good for adults but not overly spacious! Trunk is good for 4 people on a normal vacation, while if needed for utility the rear seats can be flattened out. On the negative side one can expect high cost for dealer regular maintenance, although in fairness nothing major has gone wrong for the present 85k in miles. Small annoying thing. The navigation map cannot be renewed any longer, and even early on the cost was prohibitive at $300! And other small things.

Ultimate Expense machine is more Appropriate

Engine light comes on and every time you have to replace something different and service is not cheap. Also the Drive train Malfunction came on with the Engine light and they told me if you fix the Engine light issue the Drive train malfunction would go away. It did for a couple of weeks and Its back on again. I am sick and tired of taking this car to service. Its a nice car but too expensive to maintain. Instead of calling it the "Ultimate Driving Machine" they should call it the "Ultimate Expense Machine".
