Lemon Aid
Too many expensive repairs has taken the fun out of this car. I will miss the way it drives and extras, like the Bose stereo system, when I soon buy something different.
Initial Assessment
I've owned the car for less than a month, but right away some things are apparent. Biggest issue is lack of low- end power - get a manual and this thing will DIE starting on an uphill incline unless you're a master with the clutch. You can't go above 5mph in first gear; ridiculous. Silver lining though - increased fuel efficiency, and once you have momentum the turbo can really kick in. Also, Audis start to fall apart after 30,000 miles... particularly with all the extra gadgetry that it comes equipped with. No surprises here - just buy the extended warranty.

A beautiful day
I have owned many Audi's and the new 02' A4 is a work of art. I tested and looked at many cars in the category and came back to Audi in the end. Highly recommended.
A4 - the real deal
I'm disappointed with the 02 A4. The exterior styling is great, but the interior is drab and monotone. I've had many problems in 6 months. Twice I had it towed to the dealership with igition coil problems. The cruise control and windshield washers also had to be fixed. The engine revs too high, even at low speeds and the car could use a 6th gear. The road noise, vibrations, rattle & squeaks are excessive and the overall build quality of the car doesn't compare to that of my '99 A4. The seats are also narrow and hard. On the plus side, the all-wheel drive is great. The handling is impressive when the car is driven hard on winding backroads.
Good, but could be better
The 1.8T in the quattro, automatic is lethargic. Audi really needs to boost up the HP to make it a pleasing ride. The car is solid and handles great, but just too darn slow,,push the gas and it doesn't want to move!!!! Driver needs mopre leg room , it's too cramped and I am of average height and weight.
