I purchased a 2023 new 3 weeks ago. My observations, starting with cons: Disappointing 360 degree camera. The camera on my 2017 Nissan Murano has better resolution. It's not horrible, just not what you'd expect from a premium brand. The font on the screen and labeling the various buttons and switchgear through this car is tiny. Now granted, I have senior citizen eyes. I noticed this as soon as I got behind the wheel, so it wasn't a deal breaker. Now the pros. Fun to drive. Very good acceleration. Loves the curves. Very comfortable seats. Both in front are 16 way adjustable. A great HUD. Wireless Apple CarPlay. Loaded with other features like heated steering wheel, heated/ventilated front seats, spare tire, wireless charging, remote start, the list goes on. What I thought would be a deal breaker for me, the touch pad interface, is easy to live with once you get the hang of it. Plus, the voice controls are very good and answering a phone call can be done from a switch on the steering wheel. The HVAC controls are hard buttons, not buried in a screen. If the camera at least matched my 6 year old Nissan's this would be a 5 star review.

Great Lux SUV

Acura RDX Advanced, 10/02/2022

I have had my RDX for 4 months now and am very happy with my purchase. I drove the BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and the Audi Q5. All the European models were at least a few thousand dollars more for the same level of equipment and yet I found myself enjoying the engaging drive more from the Acura. The track pad does require some time to master but once you do, its easy and provides a less distracting interface than a full touch screen due to muscle memory and its high placement. Overall, I have been really happy with my decision and have been getting about 25 MPG in mixed driving in Normal mode.

Practical but Sporty

Just purchased a 2022 RDX Advance. Great little SUV. Very good value. Drove the Lexus RDX, NX, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Genisis GV70. The Genisis was tempting but had reliability concerns because it was a new model and Genisis has had some overall reliability issues with some of their other models. All in all, thought the RDX was the best value. It was also very fun to drive. Have about 3K miles. No issues. Car is quite and very comfortable. For highway driving, I use comfort mode and get 28 MPG. For around town, normal mode gets me 23 or better. The sport mode is lots of fun but uses a bit more gas. I can't think of anything I dislike other than maybe the touch pad. An improvement would be touch screen, but the pad is not very difficult to learn and is for the most part intuitive. I use Android Auto so most of what I do is activated by voice commands anyway. Liked the ride of the BMW but wanted to keep this car for a long time so went with the Acura over the BMW and the Audi. Have owned several BMWs and know that they can be real money pits after 4 or 5 years. My experience with Audi has been the same. The Germans are using too many plastic parts in their cars these days. Overall, highly recommended.

New Acura RDX Advanced purchased February, 2022 now with 4000 miles; 25% highway/75% urban driving. Mileage per trip computer 26.2 mpg (all Comfort or Normal modes and non hooligan driving style). Quiet interior, good handling, adequate power without rattles, squeaks, or problems and much more comfortable seats for long distance driving than Audi. Track pad sucks but we use Apple CarPlay and voice commands for everything without issues. We came out of two Audi's (2018 Q7 Prestige and 2018 A4 Premium Plus) with desire to downsize/simplify. Looked at BMW X3 and Q5 (too small); Genesis GV70 (too new, non premium dealerships), Jeep Grand Cherokee (reliability concerns, brand new design, non premium dealerships despite premium price, crummy engines/mileage with old V6 or V8). So far we are extremely happy with our choice. Review update after nearly 3 year's ownership. I remain very impressed with our Acura compared to previously owned Audi's and BMW's. The car now has +36k miles on it; no mechanical issues whatsoever. The seats look great, remain comfortable and we've gotten used to the interior foibles. The super handling all wheel drive works well. The 10 speed automatic transmission is near invisible. We have since purchased a touch screen heavy car and frankly, I hate it. A swipe and two taps to open/close garage door with HomeLink?? A tap and swipe(s) to adjust temp? No thanks. I'll take buttons/knobs any day for HVAC, seats, and entertainment adjustments. My only complaint is average fuel economy, but it's an SUV. At least it burns regular gas.

2023 Acura RDX AWD Aspec/Advance - 1 Year Review

Writing this review after 1-year of ownership and 10K miles of driving in the US. Overall this SUV has been exceptional the past year. I would say it is one of the best daily drivers I have ever owned. Very quick, handles like a sports car, tight steering (especially in sport mode). Cabin is quiet, great audio system, comfortable seats, great in all weather conditions including rain/snow. I love having Alexa built in. The only negatives I can think of is the gas mileage is not great. I am currently averaging 20.3 mpg with a mix of highway and city driving. The brakes are good, but could be better. Lastly, and this is a personal preference, I wish I had just gone with the black interior instead of the red. I can already notice the red starting to fade a little bit even thought the car is garaged. Some have said the red seats turn a pinkish color eventually if the car is constantly left in the sun. This is the 4th Acura in a row I have owned and definitely the best one. Very sporty and enjoyable to drive. I have had zero problems with the car so far. Hope this helps anyone considering getting one.

Great car

The RDX excels in every area that matters to me. Responsive acceleration, roomy interior, very comfortable driver’s seat, excellent stereo in the Technology package, precise steering, smooth ride and good cargo capacity. I compared the Acura to the Audi Q5 and the Acura won on acceleration (which surprised me), roominess, and front seat comfort. I actually enjoy this car more than my previous car, an Audi A6. I would highly recommend the Acura RDX!

6 months in and so far we love our RDX

We got the 2023 RDX with Technology package in May . We really like the interior comfort and ride quality. Also shifting it into Sport mode makes it even more fun to drive! The trackpad does take a little getting used to, and should probably be updated in future models. It can be distracting using it while driving. Overall, a solid 8.5 out of 10 so far… Update December 2023: well, we’ve had the car now for about six months and overall it’s been a very comfortable as well as a high performance vehicle. The only problems have been some minor electronic glitches such as the airbag light coming on indicating some fault in the airbag system. We also noticed that the windshield wipers when placed on a higher speed, hit the side left pillar of the car. We brought these issues into the dealership however they have not been corrected as of yet. Stay tuned for more updates! Update again January 2024: All above issues have been resolved!

Ordered in Nov ‘22 and took possession Mar ‘23. RDX was in Acura shop 3 different times totaling over 30 days with oil dripping on my garage floor. Just recently oil began to drip again and recently on a trip to Tennessee my vehicle sensors went amber from green. Going to Acura dealer in Franklin TN for sensor fix. Filed LEMON notice with Acura via Florida Lemon Law guidelines. Purchased RDX in Pompano Beach FL. Acura wants to have head Acura mechanics involved with another fix. THIS SHOULDN'T BE WITH A BRAND NEW RDX WHICH I PAID OVER 60k.

I purchased an RDX after comparing it to a Mazda CX50. The packaging sold me because the technology option gave me everything that I wanted in my car. To get an upgraded stereo and voice activated navigation system I had to compare the RDX to the top of the line trim in some of the lower priced cars. I was also trying to avoid the status symbol associated with a BMW or a Mercedes. The lack of a drive shift handle is a pain and after two months the switches for park and drive are still not automatic for me. I also dislike the system that turns the car off at red lights. Finally, I was unhappy with the cost of the spare tire kit which is not standard on the car. On the positive side, the stereo is great, and the engine provides a surprising amount of power. Handling is likewise exceptional. I could call this a great car and a good value if not for the noise level on the highway. I gave up a Lincoln for this car and I also drive a Lexus. Compared to those vehicles, I feel like I am driving down the road with the windows open. Thanks to A/C, it has been a very long time since I had to do that, but without a specific location for the noise, it is just all over. I think I am hearing the tires rolling on the pavement. I tried turning up the stereo but short of headphones, nothing can dampen the noise. If you do a lot of interstate driving, this is not the car for you. I have been averaging 23.2 MPG.
