Used 2019 Acura RDX Consumer Reviews
Best package for all the tech features
This car is definitely way ahead in competition to others in semi-luxury / luxury segment. Honda / Acura aka Optimum space, I dont know how they do it; but way above Camry /Lexus or any car in their respective segments. Interior - overall - nice apeal and extra space to keep ladies bag along with sockets for another USB & cigarette lighter. Initially it was little difficult to get used to TouchPad but after 2-3 days of driving, it is comfortable to operate the same. In driving mode, you have sport & sport + or turbo sport apart from snow, comfort AND once you are on turbo sport; the sound of the car changes and you can feel & hear its craving, for the beast to let go. Mileage coming out approx 18-20 mpg.

Great except for the fuel efficiency.
Granted, this is my very first SUV. Love the vehicle and dread it at the same time. I'm a pretty frugal person, but also acknowledge the nicety of having luxury once in a blue moon. Pros: - Powerful for the price. Put this puppy in Sport+ mode and it takes off like a jet. - It's quiet inside the cabin. No squeaks, creaks, or cheap annoying noise. - Very contemporary design interior. Alcantara surface. - Spacious back row seats. - Large cargo room. - Several hidden storage bins - Love all the tech for the price that would cost you thousands more with other comparable SUVs. - It's a street performance SUV. - OMG, the sound system is magnificent! I sometimes just sit in the SUV just to listen to music because I can turn up the sound without disturbing my next door condo neighbors. Cons: - Too bad no birds-eye view for the A-Spec version. - The Infotainment requires getting used to, but it's not terrible to learn. It's just different. - The Infotainment can ACT up! I have had it actually shut down on me in the middle of the road. I'm not exactly sure why, but it only happened twice. I am not sure why it happened early when I first purchased it, but after arriving to my destination the Infotainment started again and no issues afterwards. The 2nd time it happened could have been due to bad Lightning cable. I replaced the cable and everything worked just fine afterwards. I have not had this happen for a while, but I need another long road trip to verify. Although, since the 2nd incident, the Infotainment has had firmware update that offered a lot of fixes. - There IS some sluggishness or "lag" that occurs when you slow down to "almost" a stop, but then step on the gas pedal. The vehicle just kind of just doesn't burst forward as expected. My own expected forward body movement tricks my body forward when the car actually does not move as expected. It's not a horrible problem for me, because it lasts for a second or at most two seconds. Afterwards, the vehicle bursts forward like a rocket. It's weird and I can see how this can be annoying to some folks. - Tow capacity is awful, but good thing I did not buy with the intention of towing something. It will fit bike racks just fine, but don't expect to tow a boat, heavy trailer, etc. - Fuel efficiency is not designed for this SUV. 22-23 mpg is about the best I have obtained. If this was my daily driver vehicle, I do not think I would keep it. So, good thing it is not my daily driver vehicle, so I'll be keeping it. - This is not a true off-road SUV. It CAN go off-road occasionally of course, but it's not designed to be on the off-beaten path full time. I would not risk it especially with the A-Spec 20" wheels. Summary: The Acura RDX 2019-2020 model is so beautiful to look at and so fun to drive. The short comings for the vehicle is easily forgotten. If the Infotainment commonly shuts down or becomes an issue I will be taking it to the shop to look into further. I'm not too concerned about the Infotainment partially because it does not shut down the engine, so you can continue to drive the vehicle and pull it over to safety if necessary. The other other reason is because I work with software development and I see far worse issues (aka bugs) in my normal work life. This is software problem is nothing compared to what I have to deal with on a daily basis. I still recommend this SUV as it's spacious, it's FUN to drive, audio sound quality is just unbelievable and that panoramic sunroof is like looking out an observatory. For the price, it is hard to beat for a "quality" car. I bought mine used at a super deal so I couldn't pass it by at the time as I also wanted an AWD vehicle. If you have not previously owned a Cayenne, Audi Q5, BMW X5, Benz (insert model here) then you will not regret jumping into this vehicle. It feels wonderful and you immediately feel the quality once seated inside.

AWD light keeps coming on
and when the AWD warning comes on, the car suddenly starts going slow, like its going to stop in the middle of traffic then it starts going again but the AWD warning light stays on. Does this happen to anyone else?

Runs great! But main function doesn't work
I got the car on August of 2018, main reason was the reliability that Honda have and the Apple CarPlay in the infotainment. I love the car, it drives great, quiet cabin, comfortable, but if you want to use Apple CarPlay, it just doesn't work. Disconnects all the time, freezes the infotainment and despite waiting months for updates, nothing have helped. I have iOS 13 and the last car infotainment update.

Infotainment System issues
First that I'll state that I really like this vehicle for the comfort, handling, and overall looks. My only issue has been the infotainment system. Aside from issues getting the vehicle "connected" to the App (they've since upgraded the app and no issues since), there have been two issues that seem to be related to software glitches. The first happened after a trip, upon return to the airport parking, everything seemd to be fine and then once I got onto the highway the various systems starting giving me warnings and the vehicle started to slow down on it's own and then I got control again and dealt with the dash panel system warnings until I got home. The dealer "flashed" (reloaded) the software and it was fine until today. During a long drive home, the music, navigation and other infotainment systems features quit working and the display would not shut off even after I turned the car off and back on multiple times. I called my dealer's service department and they politely acknowledged that Honda was aware of the issue and they were working on a software fix. He said that I could drive down and they would take care of the issue or he told me that they would simply disconnect the battery cables using a 10mm ratchet, connect the positive and negative terminals together for 5 minutes to discharge all the systems, then leave the terminals off the battery for 20 minutes and then reconnect. I did that and everything works again. A nuisance, but at least they 1. acknowledged the issue and 2. described the fix which worked. Cars and their electronics can have issues so I'm less than a year into ownership and I'll stay true to the car as long as these issues don't become an inconvenience or dangerous. Quick update, on 7/24 I had another issue with the infotainment system ‘going out’ meaning no Apple Car play interface and no Sirius XM. I had to stop and purchase a 10mm wrench to disconnect the battery, discharge and reconnect . . . Again! Now starting to become cautious about the vehicle on long trips. A quick update that I received a patch that appears to have fixed the infotainment issues, I’m a happy camper again!
