Your mileage should improve. Our 2009 I4 FWD Venza consistently exceeds the sticker mileage. We are getting anywhere from 25-27+ in town; 27+ city/hwy combined, and as high as 34 on interstate driving. Driving 55 on the highway will drastically improve mileage if you aren't in a hurry! There are some things I don't like about the car, but mileage isn't one of them.

Can't complain about a rough ride, but we did have some road handling issues with our 2009 certified used Venza with 8,000 miles on it. There are no Throttle Body problems with the Venza. I think what you are referring to is the Sticking Throttle Peddle problems with some Toyotas. I love the Barcelona Red part. Frankly, since the Venza did not even arrive in dealer showrooms until quite late, I'm surprised Toyota didn't make it a 2010 model from the get-go. I have several questions, some about Toyota in general and some specific to the Venza:: (1.) Living in southwest Florida, the dealers here -- as well as in the rest of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina -- get their Toyota's ... Read More
According to cars.com's Movers and Losers: January 2009, the Venza was #3 on the "movers" list at 20 days sitting on the lot. By contrast, the Nissan Murano was on the "losers" list at 109 days. The real explanation in the difference between the two crossovers is probably that the Venza is trickling out to dealers, while the 2009 Murano has been out since January 2008. However, I'm pretty sure Toyota ... Read More
Hello - 1st Post... I too am looking to order a Venza - although I really want the 4 cyl version with my choice of options. I have not seen or heard from any dealer in the Seattle area that knows anything about when the 4 cyls might arrive - So I contacted Toyota directly - and got this nice response: "Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. We ... Read More

I'm wondering if Toyota isn't making the same mistakes with Venza that Ford did with the Edge. The vehicle seems to have come in over weight giving it only a marginal improvement in fuel economy over the Highlander. It's about the same size with the same footprint as the Highlander but the Venza gets 10% better fuel economy. It's much nicer and bigger than the RAV but the fuel economy is ... Read More
@ GuessWho, I dont know what Venza, you got in; maybe the one you can drive from your computer chair?.... But that is not at all true. I have driven both and they are both whisper quiet, and the only main difference in the interior is the placement of a few electronic components, and very VERY slight design differences. And, as far as power goes, they both use 3.5 liter engines, ... Read More
I agree with IndianaJohns. Here's why... According to this forum here are the Toyota money factors in APR form: 2009 Prius 7.08% 2009 Rav4 6.6% 2009 Corolla 3.92% 2009 Camry 3.24% 2009 Avalon 7.08% 2008 FJ Cruiser 6% (info from 09/07 2009 Highlander 7.08% 2008 Matrix 6.84% (from 04/07) 2008 Sequioa 2.016% (from 08/08) Low money factor because residual was 46% 2009 Sienna 1.8% (45% residual) 2009 Venza 7.08% My first ... Here's the detailed list from the Toyota web site. The options don't seem to add up. What do you consider stuff in this list? How about the toyoguard? Are you saying that the SE region is charging $2000 more than any other area? You're not too far off IMHO. I say this often of Toyota vs. Lexus, especially when you load up a Toyota. The 2009 Lexus RX has a $5K MFG to dealer incentive, deal close to invoice and many are seeing $9-10K off MSRP
So, if both were similarly equipped, which would you pick? For me, I'm leaning towards the Venza. Even with the substantial discounts on the outgoing 2009 model (2010 is all new and arriving in February), the RX is still more expensive than the Venza for less features (that are important to me). It all depends on what's important to you, of course. The Lexus does have 1) a longer warranty; 2) ... Read More

A NEWBORN could have reached high school in the time — almost 14 years — it took Toyota to get the concept behind the 2009 Venza into dealerships. But Toyota customers seeking a fresh-feeling blend of style, comfort and practicality may find it was worth the wait. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/04/automobiles/autoreviews/04AUTO.html?_r=1
From the carpet area (driver's side) to the outside edge is 5 inches with 3-1/2 inches being a large plastic area and 1-1/2 inches is metal with the words VENZA. From the ground to entry point is just over 14 inches.
Here are my (2005) 4Runner's measurements: Adjusted the driver's seat to the highest position, measured from the front of the seat to the ground: 33 inches. Adjusted to the lowest position, measured from the front of the seat to the ground: 31 inches. So, in comparison to the Venza; - 4Runner seat height: 33 to 31 inches - Venza seat height: 28 to 26 inches Looking at the step in to ... Read More
Venza measurements: I adjusted my driver seat to the highest position, then measured from the front of the seat to the ground. It measured 28 inches. Then I adjusted my driver seat to the lowest position, then measured from the front of the seat to the ground. It measured 26 inches. To summarize, seat height varies from 28 inches to 26 inches depending on seat adjustment.
Why do people say it's easier to climb into? Both the Venza and the Highlander have the same 8 inch ground clearance and both have the high seating position, so how can the Venza be easier to get into? I know lots of articles point to the design of the Venza's narrow rocker panel. When comparing it to truck-based SUVs in general (like the 4Runner), the ease of entry becomes abundantly ... Read More
