2009 Ford Taurus X Wagon Limited 4dr Wagon (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
We needed a car with a third row of seating. After driving all kinds of models, we decided the Ford Taurus X was the most comfortable and easy to use. The car isn't terribly distinctive, but it is fairly user-friendly. We bought ours used and have only had it about 5 months, but so far we are very happy with it. It has almost as much room as our old Windstar van and it is has a very comfortable ride. The best part about it is that it has two rows of usable seats in the back. This particular model was only made for a few years but it is well worth it if you can find one. If not, go for a Flex which is almost the same thing.
Excellent ride, comfortable seating in all rows and a solid construction. The car has a lot of bells and whistles which I could live without, but some drivers might find them nice to have. I have only used the synch a couple of times. It seems a bit complex to use, but it is a nice feature.
The steering wheel doesn't telescope out, so depending on how tall you are, it can be uncomfortable to drive if the seat if pushed back. Also, the accelerator seems to be placed awkwardly and it can make your leg tired unless you learn to rest your foot differently. Finally, while there are a lot of nice interior features, the middle console is so cluttered with buttons, it can be distracting to find one when driving.
