I absolutely HATE my Volvo xc90 ultimate bright

The air suspension works when it wants to, along with assist, lane keep assist, the controls on the seats, how you have to access the heat and air. I can’t even say it feels like luxury! It’s uncomfortable, not big enough, no storage space, the app is horrible, it doesn’t show you anything useful except to start the car. No cup holders, 2 small ones in the front and 2 small ones in the middle seat. I like the Bowers and Wilkins stereo, and massage seats. Please try to test drive and see how much this car holds. UPDATE: This Volvo has been the biggest disappointment of any car we've ever leased or purchased out of the new cars and trucks we have purchased every 2-3 years for the past 40 years. We have contacted Volvo several times about the issues we are having and taken it in three times to have the problem resolved. I live in a rural area with backroads, and they say the mapping system called City View does not work well on backroads, so they are not able to replicate the problem when it is taken in for them to look at. I have been in constant communications with our saleslady Sara, she is WONDERFUL and has been most helpful. She also has documentation of everything, and a few videos. She did see when I came to pick the car up three weeks ago, that it doesn’t understand a lot of our commands. The car jerks the steering wheel from me into oncoming traffic, off the road, then tells me it avoided a collision when it almost caused a collision. Hey Google, does not understand either of us, the slight chance it does, it does not do what we have requested. I do have a video showing different things that the car does. It seems to have a mind of its own, I do not feel safe driving this car any longer. It isgoing to cause us to have an accident. I Purchased the car because I thought Volvo was the safest vehicle there was to buy or lease. Now my feelings have changed I am afraid to even drive the car to the point I am having to borrow my Mother’s car. The door on the driver side turns the vehicle off when it’s opened 10 out of 100 times, I typically have my elderly mother with me so I must go back in the car to turn it on so my mother can have air conditioning while she is waiting on me. The seats are the most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever sat in! You don’t know a lot of these things until you drive it awhile. This car drives my BP up and hurts my body. I even have a note from my dr saying how much pain and stress it causes my body. I met a tractor last week and the steering just went crazy, it was all over the road, and I was having to really fight it. My husband says he feels as if he has driven a tractor trailer all day when we get home from the trip to Richmond to the doctors because he hast to fight the steering wheel the entire day. It is very frustrating to drive this car, especially when commands are not understood by Hey Google. You never know when you can relax your hand on the wheel. You never know when it’s going to just veer off to the right or to the left into oncoming traffic or off the road, then tell you it avoided a collision! It almost caused a collision! We’ve had a Yukon Denali, Hyundai Palisade calligraphy a Buick enclave and a Tahoe. Previously all these vehicles had the same safety features, and the Hyundai did better than any of them. I feel that the 2023 Volvo vehicles lost so many features from the previous models as well as the new models coming out. If you look at the forums most everyone is very dissatisfied with the 23 Volvo for a lot of the same reasons. They continue to tell me at the dealership that it all depends on the road you're driving on well I feel like that should be a disclaimer that Volvo should give before you purchase one so that you know the area that you drive in it won't work. One dealership advised me to turn it off. I pay a lot of money for these features, and need them as well. I paid 79,000 for this car a year ago, it has everything on it. Volvo financial said they will take the car back and we pay them 18,000.00. I don’t mind taking a 5-8,000 hit I’m also losing the money I put down on the car and the equity in the car I traded in. The radio doesn’t turn on when you start the car, you have to take your eyes off of the road to go into the center screen to press play. The air suspension goes down after we exit the car, the screens go black a lot, my key fob keeps losing connection with the car so I don’t even have that, the app loses connection too, I’ve fixed that 3 times. You have to have both keys to reset it and be in the car. In my opinion, the car is extremely small, no storage space and 2 cup holders in the front and 2 in the second row that don’t even fit a McDonald’s drink. It was sold to us as a very minimalist, easy car for older people. It’s anything but user friendly.

Key Recognition Issue & 55 MPH Displaying

Since day 1, one of the keys is not recognized in the vehicle and continues to prevent the vehicle as "key has been removed", no it has not. Took for service to correct issue 3 separate times, no resolution yet. Apparently it takes Volvo over 7 business days to even document a phone conversation w/their support team - and no follow up thereafter other than an automated email suggesting they'll get back to me. Why buy new cars if they belong in Service 3x in less than 1 year.

Super comfy XC90 Recharge

2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid T8 Inscription 4dr SUV AWD w/Prod. End 11/21 (2.0L 4cyl Twincharger gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

24 hour review of my new (to me) 2022 XC90 Recharge. Bought the car in Oregon, drove back to Seattle on the day of purchase and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the car. First impressions: - Lane assist and auto pilot are handier features than I would have guessed. - The drivetrain is plenty powerful while delivering 30.5 mpg over 180 miles of mostly highway driving. -The touch screen control has a lot going on, but was able to navigate fairly easily and much more intuitive than any Audi’s I’ve had. - Ride quality is quiet and confident for such a large car - Interior is nicely appointed and not cluttered. - Some controls will need a review of the manual to understand, as there are a lot of options.

Not worth the big price tag.

Seats are way too narrow, they cut corners for sure. The ride is ok but choppy on rougher roads, the engine did not sound super smooth as it should for a small turbo. The reliability looks to be average to below average, they need to step it up and get with the program. The safety is good, but many are good now, not just Volvo. Shop around.

Infotainment regression

Went from a 2020 XC90 to a 2023 XC90. Handling and acceleration is better but entertainment system is back to the 90's. No Android Auto, only Aople Play. WHY? Main display only shiw speedometer, tachometer and Google Maps in the middle. There are no other options. I hate Google maps, I want WAZE in the middle but because there is no Android Auto, I can't have it. The needs to be a major software update to address these shortcomings in a luxury SUV.
