2024 XC60 12v critical charge problem
Bought a beautiful 2024 Volvo XC60 fully loaded. A dream car…. Wait.. I mean nightmare car. Four days after I got it 12 v critical charge alert came in along with engine light. When I called … I was actually told to drive the car the weekend ( knowing that I was taking my family three hours away that very day 😳) Told them NO. I would be coming in immediately. Got the car back Monday afternoon. Said it needed a system update and total recharge of the battery. Well ….. two weeks later SAME thing once again !!! Actually told me they don’t know what’s wrong 🫤. This is SO disappointing. And from what I’m reading on many threads… this has been going on for a couple years … not new just to my 2024, and yet Volvo still has NO ANSWER. Very VERY unhappy new Volvo owner 😡

buy it at your own peril
Volvo cars have left me disappointed when it comes to reliability. Unfortunately, their service and customer care only add to the frustration and make you question your decision to buy a Volvo. Let me share my personal experience, and you can be the judge. One chilly morning in mid-December, my new XC60 Recharge unexpectedly shut down for no apparent reason. After reporting the issue, it took roadside assistance a whopping 12 hours to arrive. Imagine being stuck in the middle of nowhere for that long. When they finally showed up, they attempted various fixes but to no avail. Ultimately, they had to tow my car to the service center where I initially purchased it. To my dismay, the service center neglected my car for the first four days without even offering a loaner vehicle, despite my repeated requests. This was quite disheartening considering they had claimed to be a premium brand when I purchased the car. In reality, their service fell short and felt more like a budget option. After spending over a week in the service center, I was finally asked to pick up my car. However, my happiness quickly turned into disappointment when the dashboard started showing errors within 10 minutes of driving. I had to return the car the very next day for further repairs. As of my latest update on January 31, 2023, my car is still in service for the third time in the past 45 days. In fact, during the last 45 days, I have only had my car with me for a mere 3 days; the rest of the time, it has been at Palo Alto Volvo Service. Please do not assume that my case is an isolated incident. If you visit Twitter and search for tweets about Volvocars, you'll find numerous similar experiences shared by others. It's disheartening to see a brand with such potential fall short in terms of reliability and customer support.

Back to the dealer because the person in the ceiling that I push a button for ALL THE TIME can't help me. So here goes again. Back in my jeep it is at least thays reliable. UGH

First Month Experience
My only extras are massage seats, climate package and 21" wheels. The fit and finish on the vehicle is great. Handles solidly with a good sense of traction on the road. It takes corners nicely. The steering is more to the luxury feel which is my preference. As for ride I live on a brick street and it handles them smoothly. Very quiet. Great get up and go with the engine! EV range has been exceeding advertised at 44mpe. Both front and rear seats are EXTREMELY comfortable. The massage seats are superior to my the BMW 530e I traded and almost as good as my previous Nautilus. The Google Info system has been seemless for my needs. The Volvo app functions nicely. The vehicle seat height is at the sweet spot between the low sedan and high large SUVs. Overall interior materials are highend with the exception of a few panels which are hard plastic, center console sides, glove compartment door, side door pockets and ceiling hand pulls. A vehicle at this price point I think this is subpar. If you can touch it, it should have a quality feel. If safety is a priority then the rear passenger windows should lower all the way down in case you need to climb out in an emergency. A few features missing in my opinion are power adjustable steering wheel, specific tire pressure display, configurable interior theme lighting, wireless phone charger and wireless CarPlay. The showroom sales experience at 2 different dealers was low pressure and respectful which could be a nod to Volvo philosophy perhaps. Overall currently enjoying the vehicle.

Amazing Car! Absolutely love our 202 XC60 Recharge
We recently leased a new 2023 XC60 Recharge and could not be happier. Best vehicle we ever owned which includes BMW X5 and Mercedes GLA. XC60 is elegant and sophisticated and rides so smoothly. Power is incredible as well. Highly recommend!
