One of the Best Volvos I ever owned!

I've driven Volvos since I was able to drive (I'm 52 now). Started out with a '67 164 (sucked), '74 144 (awesome), '73 1800 ES (need I say more if you're a Volvo fan; a classic I didn't even know I had at 21), '79 244DL (the Tank, but got to be ugly as f*** as it was a family car forever, then passed to the youngest kid in the fam, me., it was brown, knowing what ...the California sun does to brown).; then a '80 242dl 2dr, again, hung on to me forever, then a used, body-damaged '82 244 GL wagon; my savior after being laid off and having to sell my BMW. Things got better and then I bought the '95 850 GLT. GOTTA SAY NOW...given my history of owning/driving Volvos, that this is my most favorite "buddy"; bought it from private party at 95K mi, (upon purchase, discovered it has a WA State Rebuilt title, never disclosed by the (foreign) seller..in Auburn, WA, yeah, those guys), paid it anyways and it has been the best Volvo I ever owned! And now, 03/01/2018, I've replaced the pcv system (recommended to avoid engine seal blow out), timing belt, (70K mi. of course), and all those front end knocks and pings which we can avoid with bushings/seals replacement stuff (not cheap). This baby won't quit. It's my buddy...I'm gonna need it to discover my new life traveling across the country. Overall....the last of the Swedish made Volvos...the best, safest and most reliable vehicles we can buy. Buy this thing, but check with me before you spend.

I bought my Volvo 850 GLT Wagon on e- bay over three years ago. It was a one owner car with all the service records. The car had over 100,000 miles on it and drove like it was brand new. I am happy to say that I almost have 200,000 miles on it and it still drives excellent. This has been the VERY BEST car I have ever owned! I have had to replace the very basic items such as brakes and burned out lights. The engine never fails, warm or cold, starts right up, even if left for weeks at a time she fires right up. Did I mention how good they are in the snow? Excellent Snow Car! I have thought about buying a newer Volvo but with GM in the picture I think I will stay will the pre GM."Older is Better

I bought this car from the original owner. It had 168,00. I now have over 180K My wife drove round trip Boston to Milwaukee. White 4 door, spoiler. People said hey look at you, Volvo! Hey for $3400 it is the most comfortable car. I luv that deep Volvo base purr. I had the timing belt, tensioners and water pump replaced as a precaution.

Have been driving my Volvo for 1 year. Love it. Not fast, but like the unique style of the Volvo. 1995 was the last year Volvo was privately owned & built in Stockholm, after that, all when down hill with Ford. Look out for PNP switch on the tranny, very common problem, will cause care to start in 3rd gear or not start. $500-700 repair, but otherwise, great care which will run forever with proper maintenance. Why drive a boring Camry or Accord, everyone drives those, get some style!

Fun, reliable car

Volvo: Boxy, but good...This car is a tank. Though it looks outdated these days, it's still a solid, peppy drive that gets you- quickly- where you want to go while being too "family" to draw attention. After nearly 11 years, the paint and interior look great and it has been incredibly reliable. Excellent sound system, comfortable interior. Drawbacks include pulling at quick takeoffs and an incredibly stiff ride, particularly for passengers.
