Used 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan Consumer Reviews
Keep your lunch money!
As a previous owner of a slew of Crossovers and SUV Most of them in the high end categories, i.e. Audi Q3, Q5, Range Rover Evoque and Sport HSE, BMW X6, BMW X1. I have to say that I needed to come down to basics. So I stopped the craziness and now I'm pocketing all of that extra money with the purchase of my 2018 VW Tiguan S. Yes S base trim. That is all you really need. For a unit that has the same power-plant all across the board 184hp 221Lb Torque why, why would you want to go for anything higher than your basic S trim??? For what.. Push button start? A larger display infotainment system? Or a CD player inside your glove-box. I mean, who really caries CD's anymore? All you need is a USB port or use the Android auto/Apple Car play. This New Tiguan is an amazing utilitarian vehicle. Very easy to live with and enjoy on daily commutes as well as road-trips. What a Winner! Everything else everyone else has mentioned positively on comments I SECOND. The People's Warranty is VW new 6yr/72K miles bumper to bumper and it is transferable if you decide to sell your vehicle. But why would you? Unless you want to jump on the PRETENTIOUSNESS WAGON! I don't really see any other reason why anyone from a family to empty nesters would want to buy anything else. BTW all vehicles with Push button start are more prone to be stolen in this age of technology, as I have heard of a few already. Get the facts first. Get informed. GET THIS TIGUAN S. KEEP YOUR LUNCH MONEY! 5 Stars all the way.

Tiguan warranty is worthless!
THINK TWICE, PERHAPS 3 TIMES BEFORE BUYING A VW! VW will NOT back their products! Sign, drive and regret ever walking the showroom! To any Tiguan owners with a sunroof: BEWARE! Have the sunroof drainage tubes checked. They have a faulty design and often leak. There are forums online that show that many have the same issue. A few years ago, VW had a class action suit for the same thing. The design still sucks! My son has a 2018 that leaked so badly, they came out of the house to find 4 inches of water in the cabin. Even though the carpet and headliner were replaced, mold still persists. My daughter-in-law reacts violently. They will not use the heater or defroster as it pumps the spores into the cabin. They have a 5 month old son and will not subject him to this dangerous environment. One of the social media advocates contacted my son. VW said they would buy the car back, then reneged! 18 months old, less than 15 k miles and it is worthless to them. WHO WANTS TO DRIVE A HAZARDOUS MOLD INCUBATOR? They are cutting their losses ( over $10k ) and bought a reputable, reliable Toyota! Tiguan in German means “bend over!” It is a POS car sold by a POS company that refuses to stand behind their products! Totally done with VW! Makes you wonder why they need so many social media advocates! I suppose it is to handle the many issues. Unfortunately, they have no pull and corporate won’t back their faulty products! Good riddance! We (the parents) have driven only Subarus and Toyotas for the last 20 years. In the 80s and 90s we had a Jetta and 2 Audis that were nothing but headaches and electrical nightmares! My 2013 Tacoma has 114k on it. The only thing it has ever needed other than oil changes and tire replacement has been a set of front brake pads. One of our family Subies went 245k before we sold it, AND it is still on the road today. Always have Subie sunroofs. Our mechanic periodically blows out the drainage tubes (which exit by rear wheel well, not the front cabin pillar)and presto, no issues! Enough said! VW could have easily solved this debacle by doing the morally right thing by buying this lemon back at a fair price. I suppose I should expect such bush league business practices from a company whose Diesel engine computers were rigged to produce false data to pass emissions tests! Just another example of corporate crooks putting profits over principles without giving a rat’s ass about people’s health!
Only car that had everything we needed
Coming from a GTi, I appreciate the VW driving dynamics. This SUV is the only SUV on the market that was both compact and had 7 seats. The rest, the large panoramic sunroof, the auto cruise control, apple carplay, etc. all are bonuses.

Value Packed for 7 Seats!
For the same money as the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder S and the Kia Sedona LX ... the 2019 VW Tiguan SE provided more features and amenities for 7 seats. Very comfortable ride and better fuel economy. Cosmetically, extremely stylish on the outside ... luxury vehicle on the inside. I'm extremely happy with this vehicle & my kids love it.
