Used 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan Consumer Reviews
VW Tiguan
Great SUV with a third row, power train performance feels good and very responsive when you need it. I don't know why it got bad reviews saying that it has a lack of power, it works perfect to me and we are talking about a SUV not a Golf R! Overall I'm happy with mine, it has a great interior looking, awesome panoramic sunroof, good quality electronic assistance packege.

Manufacturing Defects
Glad it came with a really long warranty. I bought it CPO with only 6K miles on it, and would not have bought it otherwise. CPO warranty is good until June 2026 or 84K miles. 2018-2019 models came with 6/72 bumper to bumper but the newer models are only 3/50. I bought it on a sunny Saturday afternoon. That night I discovered one of the LED headlights was not functioning beyond the daytime running lights. Turns out it had a leak due to a manufacturing defect. Warranty covered it, but $1,700 for a headlight is off the charts. Today, at all of 9K miles I have to pay $500 for new rotors because the warranty does not cover that. Dealer hangs their hat on a technicality that excludes brakes beyond 12 months since initial delivery as they consider it wear & tear at that point. They refuse to acknowledge it as a defect, yet they tell me it is nothing that I have done. I asked if they know how lame that sounds, and they conceded that they did but blamed VW warranty rules. Beyond that, it is a nice looking car with a great stereo and plenty of room.

The little thing are missing
2018 sel r-line. Love this car for 9 months out of the year. Interior is great. Sharpe on the outside. 45k miles and only had an electrical issue that was under warranty and fixed. Here are the big negatives. The windshield wipers do not lift off without the support bar hitting and scratching the hood. Wiper rest area is not heated so the Wipers freeze if its snowing while you are driving. Making it a severe hazard to drive in snowy conditions. But it handles the road amazingly well in all conditions. Oil changes are expensive and require special blends that only the dealership offers. No heated side mirrors even though I ha e a button that says they are. Can not turn off headlights while parked. The stereo system (Fender) just flat out sucks. ECN module ($1200 job to replace) located directly under the coolant overflow. Renders your car useless in the hotter months if you keep coolant full. I was told to keep it below 3/4 to prevent overflow again in the hotter months. Overall I would recommend this car to anyone who wants power and dependability.
