2024 Volkswagen Taos Consumer Reviews

Never thought about buying an SUV
We bought this Taos on the first business day of 2024. It's a hard change for me from the 2013 Jetta we also have. BUT, my wife likes it. When looking, we tried Equinox, Trax, Malibu. My wife had one new requirement since we now have people to ride in the back seat. That was a vent for the heater/AC that could be controlled by the back seat passengers. The only one that had it was the Taos. The Taos also has something even the Jetta didn't have. The front part of the driver's seat can be lowered manually ever so slightly. This helps with my wife's hips since their is so much metal in her hips and back. She also likes the back up camera because she doesn't have to try to turn to look. NOW FOR THE DISLIKES!! Don't like the screen in the middle of the dashboard! Too old to try to learn this stuff! Where is the CD player? Last dislike-where is the suicide strap above the driver's door?? Sorta neat though-two Volkswagen's in the driveway-both dark blue.

Really good except…
This is an enjoyable European feeling vehicle but there is a persistent rattle in the front passenger door, the wipers come on randomly when in the off position and aren’t as smooth as they should be.

Very Impressed with this small SUV
We purchased a new 2024 SEL at the end of the year and got a very good deal. Cannot believe all the tech the car has. Love the adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and the wireless Apple Carplay. Love the placement of the wireless phone charger too. Also, cannot believe this car also offers heated and ventilated seats in this class of car along with the enormous panoramic sunroof. Feels very premium for this class of car. We purchased the car in Illinois and drove it down to Florida and continued to be impressed with the drive/comfort quality of the car. The car is extremely roomy and has a very solid build quality. We haven't had a VW in our family since our 2000 VW New Beetle and forgot how nice these German cars drive/handle. We compared many other brands when making our car purchase decision and are very happy with our choice.

Blue buzzer
Bought my Taos last April after the old car got hit. Overall it has been great in all types of conditions and traffic. All of the features work great and my mobile phone connects flawlessly to the radio. For a small suv it can really get up and go when needed. The only downside is the hesitation when accelerating from a stop. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a small suv without the high price tag.

Great car and value
Purchased a new 2024 in May. It gets good fuel mileage, is fun to drive, fits my family of three. The transmission does have some odd shifting going down hill. My biggest complaint is the lack of phone buttons on the steering wheel.
