2006 Porsche Cayman S
-Mileage when purchased: 48k
-Mileage when sold: 77k
-Repairs: RMS ($4K), that’s it
-Maintenance during ownership: front and rear brakes, cabin and oil filters. Completed all oil changes and brake jobs myself. This car is very easy to work on, especially the brakes. As for oil the car burned a very tiny amount. Maybe a half liter every 4K miles. I send my oil to black forest labs and it … always came back with flying colors (used DT Driven)
-Comfort: I’m 6’2, athletic build (200ish lbs). I could’ve used a little more leg room, seats were too narrow for me up in the shoulder area, I could never rest my back completely flat.
-Ride and handling: This car is so precise it can almost become boring. There’s no drama, limits are higher than you’ll ever need for the street. When you find the short back to back twisties is when you really have fun. Car does a surprisingly good job on bad roads.
Shifter is a little mushy, aftermarket kits can probably help.
-Power: This isn’t a muscle car and it’s 16yrs old. There’s Camrys out there that are going to out pull you at stop lights. With that said when you master it’s torque range and fine tune your shifting skills to the car it’s more than enough.
I probably would’ve kept this car for forever if I had enough space. It’s beautiful to look at it, above average functionality with the trunk and frunk, sounds great. It’s also very reliable.
