2017 Nissan Rogue Sport
We bought our 17 Rogue Sport SL AWD in April of 2018 as a leftover. It was a very good looking car and my wife fell in love with it immediately. So we signed on the dotted line and took it home. It took me about 2 months to become vocal about some of the things I didn't like about the Sport and as time went by I grew to despise that car. There were several issues that appeared that … were just simply unacceptable. First, the engine would surge constantly on the highway, to the point that my wife accused me of doing it on purpose. So I set the cruise and took my foot off the accelerator and showed her that it was not me. This surging was relentless. It almost drove me crazy and Nissan wouldn't do anything about it. They just said it was "normal". The CVT in these vehicles are pure garbage. I'm 53 years old and have owned over 50 cars in my lifetime and have never driven a worse transmission. Slipping, whining, and engine roaring till it engages properly and constantly hunting and pecking for the correct simulated gear it wanted to be in. At least once a week it would stall backing out of my climate controlled garage for no apparent reason. Then the RPM's would surge till it settled itself back down. The final straw for me was while on a road trip, the a/c stopped working on a 95 degree day. That was it. I vowed to dump that car within a month and that's exactly what I did. I was forced to trade in a 3 year old car with only 33k miles on the odometer because I hated it that much. Such a shame too because it really was a beautiful car. I just couldn't deal with it any longer. We bought a new 2021 Mazda CX-30 Premium to take it's place and couldn't be happier with it. It's everything that poor disgraced Nissan could only hope to be. It was my first Nissan and will absolutely be my last. Nissan was terrible to work with from a customer service standpoint. Had they put half the effort into rectifying our issues that they did sweeping them under the carpet, we might still be Nissan customers. And I'm not talking on the dealer level. I'm talking about Nissan Corporate. They absolutely DO NOT care about their customer base. I'd have given the car one star, but like I said.....it was very pretty to look at.
