This is the most stupidly designed car

2018 Nissan Kicks
When I bought my 2018 Nissan kicks at the start of 2021 I was excited. A smaller sized SUV that could fill the needs I had while still being fuel efficient but with space. I didn’t notice most of the things I now consider major defects right away. The first hint came when I had to return it for service 3x before they found that the transmission had totally failed. Transmission was on … back order from China or Japan so I didn’t even have the car fir 45 days. When I got it back the small things became more apparent. For one. The display. The Nissan connect display looks like most other displays, how can it be wrong? Well, it’s angled towards the windshield which means it ALWAYS has a glare on it making the reverse camera unsafe and virtually useless unless you steer one handed and use one hand as a flare guard. Right now sitting in my driveway in this horribly designed car I can even see what’s on the screen. It’s not overly sunny out, but if there’s any sun there’s a glare. Two. Why does only the drivers seat have an arm rest? My passengers have arms too and they have no rest. So they inevitably rest it in the door to their right. Do you know what’s positioned EXACTLY where your elbow rests on the passenger side door? It’s the window button. So every time someone gets in my car they go to rest their arms, find no armrest, put their right arm in the door and roll the window down on accident. Just poor design. With the arm rest up on the drivers side you can’t see or easily reach either cup holder. Why are they so far back yet Theresa space next to the brake that could have fit them? Because they’re set so far back there’s obviously no center console. So there’s next to no storage because the glovebox is so small it only fits documents and The manual. Just more poor design. The dashboard. Oh look it’s comfort a cool bumpy texture. And the middle vents are angled backwards at the bottom? The middle vents are terrible. And the driver and passenger vents spin unnecessarily. Due to the angles, bumpy texture and weird vent shapes there is literally zero locations to put any sort of cell phone mount. So maybe set your phone with gpa on down by the gearshift? Nope. That’s angled all weird too so there’s no flat space to place it that’s easy to see while driving. I have yet to find any “feature” that is helpful in this car. It has slow pickup and is underpowered for its size with a poorly designed interior. So yeah 0/10 would not buy this car again.
