Its May 10th 2020 today, I bought car on Dec 14th, 2019. Iam paying EMI without car with me. Repair costs are more than Car cost. So I dont want any other person get affected, hence giving honest review. 12/14/2019 - Saturday: Signed contract and picked car along with 3 years of Powertrain warranty from CARMA AUTOMOTIVE GROUP. 12/15/2019 - Sunday: I drove the car for few miles and got some doubt on vehicle technicalities. 12/16/2019- Monday: Got vehicle inspected. Post inspection gave list of issues to Carma. They said they would look into it. Asked me to contact after some days. 12/18/2019 - Wednesday: Evening, when driving back from office to home,was on far left lane of freeway, around 5:40pm, suddenly a light came on dashboard saying 'Hybrid failed' and car engine stopped. I immediately switched on emergency lights. Fortunately, I missed a major accident. Took the car to CARMA and explained the situation. They said they would test the car and asked me to leave it with them. From Dec 2019 Iam paying loan EMI without using car and taking rental cars for my daily activities with additional $180 per week. Since Dec 16th 2019, I email them multiple times to xxxxxxx@carmaautogroup.com, explaining my unwillingness to take the car and requested them to cancel contract and pay back my down payment. They won't respond. After following up for a month, I informed them that I will pursue legally, then manager responds saying, "we thought of helping you but as you used legal term we won't help you any further, come and pick your car else it will be towed". Again I went to their store and requested them to fix the car.I tried my best to be patient and friendly with them, but of no use. They dropped the car at a VW service Center after testing. Cost of the car that I bought from Carma is $8,500. VW service center estimated cost for repairs is $11,500. I have the detailed estimates from VW Service center. But putting $11,500 for repairs on a used car (Transmission failed along with other technical issues) is not acceptable. Carma sold me a Warranty for $2000. When signing, manager says it do cover Hybrid battery and Transmission. When I read the warranty it clearly says it does not cover hybrid battery. I sent screenshot to manager. He did not bother to respond. Carma said warranty will pay for rental car, when car is at repair shop. When I contact warranty they say rental car is not covered. Carma Manager says complete amount is approved by warranty for repairs, when I check with warranty they didn't even send Inspector for inspecting the car yet. Few days back I went to Carma to check on car status,answer I got from manager is 'Technically we are not responsible any more, we are just trying to help you, thats it'. Firstly why did they keep a damaged car for sale? From 3 days post buying how can a transmission fail, so its a complete damage car. When i asked them to refund my money and take back the car, Carma says 'Georgia does not have lemon laws, you signed the contract and we cannot cancel it'. Is it a Sin, signing a contract? How can we take a totally damaged car. Complete transmission failed. Georgia need Lemon Laws. Its not safe anymore to buy a used car, unless there is proper law in place.
