2020 Honda Accord
I think that the Honda cruse control is unsafe. Besides the constant beeping, it will slam on the brakes sometimes for different conditions. For example going over the top of hill in the middle lane at 70 mph it apparently picked up a truck in the right lane and slowed to 55 before I could cancel it. Starting up a steep grade with no traffic in front of me doing 70 mph it slowed to … 50, detecting the patch in the pavement as a car, I guess. Passing a line of trucks going up a grade, it slowed at every shadow. It also slams on the breaks on curves when on coming traffic crosses in front of the car, or it looses a car in front and re-acquires it. The worst was passing a car doing 50mph, no striping when I signaled, but as I started to change lanes I crossed a line, the system slammed on the brakes and tried to force me back into the rear of the car I was overtaking, note, lane assist was not on. Honda needs to fix this, to date nobody at the dealer seems concerned or was even willing to look at it.
There are other times not as drastic and the cause is undetermined
