trunk open button too close to view button

1. On XLE with driver assist, the 360 view button is next to trunk opener button. I wonder if someone accidentally touching it may cause the trunk to open while driving. This is a usability flaw. 2. I would wish for the more European look of the Accord although I really like the active safety features found on Camry. 3. In California, there is no way to order driver assist pkg with navigation (integrated real navigation instead of the connected fake navigation), not even driver assist pkg with audio pkg without the panoramic roof. I see only in FL you may configure without the panoramic roof.

Navigation subscription! No Apple/android

I was all set to purchase the $37,000 XSE V6 Camry Until I realized the lack of phone support and, that Toyota will start subscription costs for scout navigation in 2024. I want to use Google maps or Waze. Toyota made this change in Avalon for 2019, they should reconsider the change in Camry also.

Absolutely awesome

After being a life long GM owner , I decided to give Toyota a try. I know of several people whom have Camery’s and love them. I am now too a Camry owner and absolutely love this car ! Superior handling, comfort and style. I have NO complaints. The Entune system works just fine with my IPhone XR. The apps all work as well. The headlights are a bit bright ( love that ) and have had no issues with oncoming traffic. The “ auto brights “ work flawless. The 8 speed transmission does take a bit of getting used to however, it’s great ! Fabulous gas mileage. Couldn’t be happier

8speed trans problems and Toyota is tight lipped

Aleks M., 02/06/2019

This new 8 speed transmission is garbage and the dealers shrugged shoulders and tell you that nothing is wrong. But if you go online and Google "2018 Camry trans problems everyone is explaining the same issues I'm having. The car doesn't know what gear it wants to be in ! The RPMs flutter not knowing what gear to go in. The trans drops bad at rolling stops, acceleration is delayed at an speed rolling or stopped, when the accelerator reacts eventually your head snaps back. But to the dealers they thing this is the way it should drive..... absolutely disheartening! Garbage! Absolutely garbage! Wish I never purchased this car!

Other buyers should be aware of the crappy navigation system and the cheap upholstery. Toyota is riding on its reputation and slipping this car on the buyer. I can live with everything except the navigation system. It is a piece of crap that should be sold to children who need a toy to play with. I read a review before I bought by car and the review stated that the GPS was a joke the materials in the interior were cheap and the engiine was a little noisy. They were right. I have always been a fan of Toyota but i am turning away unless they can do something about this gps system. I would tell future buyers that in order to get a integrated navigation, you have to choose top of the line models. I am very disappointed in Toyota and probably will not be buying anymore.
