This CH has all of the pep of a V-6, yet gets 38 MPG. This car is amazing. We got the XLE (Bought New) with every option but the premium nav system. The nav/entune leaves something to be desired. Complaint: You can't enter anything while driving and the voice commands are terrible. The seats are pretty good, but they do get stiff on long drives. Overall, this is an affordable, reliable car that will last you a lifetime. Don't worry about the battery failure, because by the time that happens, you will have saved enough money to pay for it and have plenty left over (They last 250,000+ miles). Save the environment, and save yourself money. Win/win!

Car has performed as advertised for 5 years with no issues, just oil changes, filters and tires. 55,000 miles original brakes, still going strong. Only annoying think is the decal on the shift handle which is wearing off (like to keep my hand there). Car consistently gets 40 mpg, went from northern NJ to Washington DC to Annapolis Maryland and then home on one tank of gas, amazing. Car is very good in snow. The only negative is a small trunk.

If buying used you can check the Toyota app and enter the VIN and find all the service records done at toyota dealerships. I bought mine at 260k and inspected it real well (I am a mechanic). The only issue this one has is one of the tire sensors is starting to go bad. If you ask me for 270k that's pretty insane. This things ride is rigid compared to the older body style however I prefer this. Oh and don't look at the less than 5 star reviews on this car because those people complain about storage compartments. This year also seems to have fixed the melting dash board issues as well (my wife's 09's dashboard is essentially flypaper) so yeah of you are in the market for a nice cheap reliable used car I would buy one with good service records and high milage in a heartbeat.

Work car retired at almost 400,000 miles

A few years ago, I drove a 2013 Toyota Camry LE hybrid as a work vehicle. It was originally used as a taxi that was retired at 150K miles, to then be used for medical transport. I personally put over 200K miles on that vehicle in about 3 years. It only started having issues with the hybrid system at well over 300,000 miles. Coolant Pump B malfunctioned also at well over 300K miles. Outside of basic maintenance and the few issues above, that was the most dependable car I ever drove, for work or as a personal vehicle. A 400 mile day cost under $20 for gas. It was a real workhorse, super dependable and comfortable to drive for 12 hours a day. I'd like to find one for a personal car, but they are hard to find. I drove 2010 camry hybrids at the same company, and they also held up to almost 400,000 miles before being retired. Those were ok but not as nice as the 2013.
