cold weather woes

2015 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT)

My 2015 outback has a cold weather problem with the transmission. If it is below freezing the motor will race much higher for the first 4 or 5 miles or until the temperature reaches full operating level. At 30 miles per hour the rpms normally are about 1200 when warm, but when cold it runs about 2600 rpms. MY 2010 outback had a cvt transmission and never had that problem. The dealer says it is normal. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. Update as of 2/15/2016. the transmission is still no better and the dealer says that the condition is normal. I find it hard to believe that Subaru would design this transmission to operate in this fashion. This is my fifth Outback and it will be my last. AS of august of 2016 there have been no changes. Love the car except for the transmission. It is now the middle of February 2017 and in the third winter since purchase.. Still having the same problem. Getting rid of the car in sept. 2019.

Syrius XM lost categories to choose from; list of all stations stopped working. DON'T BUY UNTIL THEY GET THIS FIXED. This worked fine until a couple of months ago.

Car is very reliable and comfortable. If you plan to buy one I would strongly suggest that you get the heated front seats option! It’s great for driving in cold weather.

The 2015 Outback that I test drove at Crain Auto seemed to be lacking in it's ability. It seemed to be to much money for what was wrong with it.
