Got a lemon
Usually has good reviews as a reliable vehicle which was why I switched from Toyota to Subaru. After replacing my engine at 142 K miles, will go back to Toyota for reliability for my next vehicle. 70 K miles on new engine and had to change head gaskets and also the transmission valve body. Too many parts going as I also replaced all the bearings. Service was good to replace parts for free and charge recall labor prices. Still sour to the brand.

Subaru LEMON!!!
Don't buy this car for any amount of money...It is a design disaster, more importantly, it is is a major repair money pit. You can count on large regular repair bills, hundreds or thousands of dollars each! I have owned my own car for 58 years. I have spent more money on major repairs on this subaru than I have spent on all my other vehicles combined!!! You name it and I have repaired it on this vehicle.

like the turbo for passing...
i've had my used 09 Forester XT (~57k miles) for about 2 months now. Took it cross country (+10k miles) completely loaded inside, on top with car top carrier and behind with hitch carriage. Gas mileage so-so (23-24 mpg). my previous car's 6 cyl engine did better with gas, but had nothing on this Forester when it comes to needing a little get-up-and-go on highway and in mountains. 2 problems: front head rest and noise. Turned front head rest around to reduce neck fatigue. Noise - my dog used to be an awesome road tripper, until we got this car. She is unable to relax as long as the car is in motion. It's so bad, i'm considering selling just for her well-being.
Best SUV on the Market Today!
I owned a 2004 Subaru Forester and then a 2007 Subaru Legacy Sedan Limited. This new Forester has everything and more! Great comfort, handling, performance and pickup!
