I love this car and having said that, visibility is not so great. I knew that going in from the reviews but I bought it anyway. I would buy it again tomorrow

I am an automobile enthusist & have owned 270 plus vehicles in 50 years. I now own 2 xB's, a 2014 & 15. We like them equally. Easy to enter & exit. A bullet proof 4 speed tranny Toyota had used for 20 + years. Great visibility. I appreciate the drivers seat can be raised & reclined. The steering wheel not only tilts but also telescopes. Everything in the XB is reliable & built to last. The Japanese culture focuses on details & quality control. xB's were built in Japan. We like the minimalist cabin & easy to read straight forward gauges. At first the center gauge cluster seemed weird, but now I appreciate it & wish others had done this. No longer looking through the steering wheel at speedo & no more glare at night coming from instrument panel lights normally set just below your eyes road focus. The XB is a joy around town with its tight turning radius & quick acceleration. Easy to park & upright seats make it feel like driving a larger suv. One does not feel cramped in the XB as it has ample head and shoulder room. The back seats also have plenty of leg room with easy access in & out. You either love the box look or you don't, but will appreciate all the interior hauling space with back seats down. 4 wheel disk brakes make for sure stopping. The center console has a sliding arm rest with lots of storage under it. I so appreciate old school parking brake versus new electric parking brakes found on many new cars. Newer cars also now have unreliable cvt transmissions which feel like a rubber band, plus numerous distracting functions. It is a shame Toyota put the XB to rest in 2015 because those of us who own them really appreciate them. I had leased a 2021 corolla hatchback special edition. I drove it 4 months and sold it to carvana. Was difficult to enter and exit, routinely hitting my head on the door frame. I flew out of state to purchase the low mileage 2015 XB found online. My wife was not willing to part with her 2014 XB, to drive the leased 2021 corolla hatch. She much preferred her XB. She suggested I sell the leased corolla hatch & find a second XB, which I quickly did. My only complaint is that her 2014 lacks the back up camera. Other than that omission, these are two of the best vehicles we have ever owned. We have made several trips, each with 3 days of driving. We found the seats very comfortable. Toyota is known for reliability & dependable longevity & though the XB is a Scion, it is really a Toyota at heart. It simplicity is much appreciated. The XB stands out in having a lot of room in a smaller package, though does not feel compact in any way. It does many things well. We average 25 mpg combined & nearly 30 mpg on trips. I am willing to sacrifice a bit of fuel economy for certain dependability. I have found nothing that even comes close to the XB's uniqueness. This is probably why owners love them & the box has sort of a cult like following. Lately low mileage XB's are selling for more than they originally retailed for. So glad we purchased ours when we did.

Ive been in love with the Scion xB for a long time. Finally test drove one and it was almost as i dreamt. Roomy, classic interior, smooth ride. However there was not alot of new technolgy applied in these models and the MPG is pretty low.

Best Hatchback of all time!

The Scion xB is awesome to drive, drives very smooth. I have owned a manual, and now an automatic. It's spacious inside, lots of visibility, amazing turn radius, handles perfectly, and lots of room for cargo. I have stuffed this thing with almost all my belongings moving up and down the west coast. It's the best road trip car - can fit 5 people very comfortably. And it's a Toyota - the engines last long, and are almost impossible to fatigue. Take good care of it and you'll have a car that can last 250,000 miles or more. Couldn't be happier! The only con is that these aren't being made anymore - and it's a wonder why!
