2007 Saturn Aura XR 4dr Sedan (3.6L 6cyl 6A)

I am the 2nd owner of this Aura XR. I brought it in Mar 2011 with 10,200 miles on it.
It's a beautiful looking, well-optioned car with good performance and handling.
I cannot wait to be rid of it because it has zero reliability.
Its been to 2 different dealers in the past 3 months for electrical/computer issues which can not be found.
They car will refuse to crank after short trips, then restart on its own after 10-15 minutes, usually accompanied by a random warning light (never the same one).
Both trips to the dealer were the result of all gauges malfunctioning, all warning lights & messages coming on, and all electrical systems (like traction control) shutting off while driving.

Best Features

The car is well optioned, with great performance from the 3.6L V6 and 6spd auto. It handles well and delivers good fuel economy.

Worst Features

GM should really issue a recall based on all the forums I've read where other Aura owners have identical problems with their cars, which usually cannot be resolved.

My appreciations to you for posting this comment. As, our issues appear to be almost identical. Right down to being the 2nd owner & similar mileage. The first year was great. Then, as you stated, the electrical/computer issues began, but were a mystery or could not be found. Then a recall was issued. Fixed. But, again/Did not match with what was happening. Next was the stalling or not starting at all. Typically, came with the warning lights, that did not always coincide with the actual issue. That Traction Control- (TC). All are linked. But, do not connect, I was told. They run on the same circuit, but differently. What? I brought my vehicle into an outside mechanic to have a second opinion. I was told whomever has been doing the work on this vehicle, has been using old/used parts. However, he said, if it is working at the moment, to leave it be. But, to be aware that, that is what has been done. He was referring to electrical issues. Yikes! This seems to be a theme with this year, make and model-2007 Saturn Aura XR 4dr Sedan (3.6L 6cyl 6A)-Lovely little specimen, isn't it? The recalls that they have issued barely scraped the surface. A little security temporarily. GM does to need to become more aware, if they are not already of the needs of their Aura consumers. In my personal opinion, it could or will become a safety issue. No, you are not making Saturns any longer. But, take care of those whom own them OR at least help them understand why one day their car will start & then the next day it will not. I am not into driving a 'Christine' around...and my warranties is about to run out. Yes, a bit more than a comment/response. And, yes it truly is a fun vehicle to drive. Comfortable & very attractive. Not expecting the extras.
