Used 2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE Rwd 4dr SUV (4.0L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Pathfinder LE 2 WD drive
Car handles well, more like a car than a truck. Appointments are luxurious. Even the basic LE model has all the bells and whistles except navigation and DVD systems. A standard 1st aid kit is nice. No available rear window deflector is a turn off. Two glove boxes is different. This is a new version of the old pathfinder. It has 3rd row fold down seats. Because it is newly redesigned it might be hard to get a good deal (no specials). Bose speaker system, multi-control AC and memory system for drivers seat, mirror and pedal height are all nice touchs. There is a big difference, appointment/accesory-wise between LE and other models (SE, etc..). We had a 2002 LE. Not much interior storage space.
Excellent for Families
This SUV is really a godsend, I updated my 1999.5 Pathfinder to the 2005 and I have never been happier. The third row seat is excellent for carrying more passagers, and the design of the SUV allows for maximum comfort on long drives. The DVD player is awesome, mostly because I have gotten my readio back. The handling is great. The ride is quiet and it drives well. The engine is amazing. I really like that this vehicle is not a gas guzzler like my brothers Ford Expedition.

bad car! bad car!
This car is RIDICULOUS!!! I bought this car used with only 36,000 miles, if that. This car has broken down soooo many times that I am both surprised and disappointed that the government has not stepped in and reprimanded Nissan. Other than normal maintenance, I have spent greater than $3000 in major repairs. I am soo over this car and will be trading it as soon as possible.
Wish I hadn't and won't again.
It is not a well-built vehicle. Cheap plastic inside breaks, CD player kaput at 40k, washer fluid reservoir cracked and leaks out, fuel-sending unit/gauge out at 45k (Nissan hasn't included 05 in the recall of 06 and 08s -thanks for nothing- even though they know it's a defect), and now a problem with my transmission at 71k. Can't seem to get a specific diagnosis yet but I can guess what it is ---radiator leaking into the trans? Nissan hasn't paid for the fuel s.u. or recalled the defective part(s) leading to the trans failure. This was my 3rd Nissan. Time to trade and never buy Nissan again.
A Cut above the rest of the pack
Owned for about two weeks, Very impressed with this newly designed Pathfinder. Design is very clean, with modern looks, but still gives the suv rugged feel. Driving impressions are very good, alot of power on tap, great VQ engine, sounds great when driving, but is not too loud due to the well insulated and designed cabin. Very quiet a high speed. Good handling around twisty roads, suspension seems to work very well on this newly introduced truck platform. Good storage and seating options. Plenty of room in second row seating even when driver seat is all the way back. 3rd row seating in ok, probably comfortable for kids. Huge size trunk
