Used 2017 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews
3.5SL is definitely an enthusiast's car
I have the 2017.5 (released fall 2017) SL3.5 sedan. This vehicle is a great "sleeper." It looks like a shrug of a car: cute but not overly so, quiet, and well-mannered. It is only available in sensible colors. The interior is "meh," although the front seats are remarkably comfortable. Everything changes when you drive it. If I floor this car from a stop, the whole front end lifts up off the ground; while it doesn't accelerate like a true sportscar, it is surprisingly quick. The CVT transmission is responsive at any speed. While it doesn't corner on rails per se, the steering is crisp. It performs like a champ in tropical rainstorms and in Midwest snowstorms. Best of all, my insurance is super-cheap. (Altima is not considered a performance car, but Maxima is.) I bought this car new, and it has given me zero mechanical problems in the past 5 years. My only complaints are the "premium" stereo (It's awful), the cheap/thin paint, and the super-quiet, restrictive exhaust. I'm intending to add a cat-back system one of these days and maybe a few other performance upgrades. Last year, I went looking for a new car, but honestly, I couldn't find anything I liked better than this one. Honestly, the driving experience is reminiscent of a 1990s Cadillac with the Northstar v8 (but with a lot less wallowing around corners).
Nissan center caps on tires
I do love my 2017 Nissan Altima. My only problem is the center Nissan caps on the tires. I replaced 2 abs now another one is missing. These are not cheap and I don’t want to keep replacing these things nor do I want my car to be missing the cap. The company doesn’t want to absorb any of the cost ir give a discount. Anyone else having this problem?

A Great Vehicle For A Great Price
This is very comparable to the Dodge Intrepid I had in the 90's. It offers a smooth ride, great gas mileage and very comfortable seats. I haven't done too much highway driving yet so I don't know what the mileage will work out to be yet. Overall, I am very happy with the vehicle.

RECALL THE 2017 TRANSMISSION PLEASE!!!!
My 2017 Altima only has 104,000 miles on it and after being charged $200 at the Van Nuys Nissan when I told them the transmission was having slipping problems and at times on the highway would not move faster when the gas pedal was to the floor, I was told they can't repair them, only replace them. They did not need to charge $200 to tell me that. They could have at least told me that no matter what is wrong with the transmission it needs to be replaced. They also wanted $6000 to do so. I went with Aamco instead. But after some internet searches and more info from the Aamco mechanic I learned that these transmissions are so bad that they did improve the transmissions he buys from Nissan to replace them, yet there is still no recall so that us owners are not blindsided by a financially crippling repair bill at such low mileage. If this is how Nissan does business this is the last Nissan I will ever purchase.
