Pretty nice but unreliable
Beware of the CVT transmission. I had this car for almost a year, loved it for the better half of the year, until the transmission gave up on me. After reading other reviews of many others with the same issues, sounds like a got lucky. While most others said their car straight up died on them while driving, I noticed the signs of transmission failure immediately and pulled off the road to a safe place, turned off the car, and then when I turned it back on it was fine. Took it into Nissan dealer a few days later hoping for the best, but got the worst. There was a sensor or something that was failing within the transmission, and the only way to fix it was to replace entire transmission (about 4K to fix). The entire sound system also infrequently stops working completely, and starts working again for absolutely no reason. Other than those major issues, I did love the car. It was very smooth, handled well, got decent gas mileage, beautiful interior.

Other reviews scare me
I bought my 2014 Altima SV in 2016 with 27,000 miles on it. It has broken down once on me (Jan 2019) and it was because of an electrical issue. It was back up and running after one day of repairs, but it was still very frustrating. There are a ton of people online that day the CVT transmission gives out before you even get to 100k miles. I currently have 61k and am concerned about the longevity of this car. Nissan seems to reject the notion that their CVT transmissions are a problem, despite the plethora of people out there who have had major issues. I would be very cautious about purchasing a Nissan with a CVT transmission. The best part of the SV trim is the interior. Very comfortable and roomy. However, reliability and longevity are what I look for the most in a car, and unsure if this Altima will last me 15-20 years like a Toyota would.

Nissan needs to recall and fix their transmissions
Update: Nissan send me a $1000 towards another Nissan. Give me a break. After refusing to admit there was anything wrong with the Altima's transmission, now they are sending coupons to Altima owners who could have died due to their faulty work? First of all, I normally have no problems with Nissan. I lease an Infiniti Q50 and this was my second Altima. The problem is that it's on its 3rd transmission in under 70,000 miles. I suspect the transmission was going to go out soon so I traded it in, notifying the dealer who bought the car that there are major issues with Nissan's CVT in this model that they refuse to acknowledge. Car stopped in the middle of busy intersections twice, and once on the interstate with very narrow lanes. If you value your family's safety, don't buy a Nissan with CVT until they fix their problems.

Bad Transmission
I loved my 2014 Altima, It rode smooth, got great gas mileage and looked nice UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT!!! The CVT can not be rebuilt and it is very expensive to replace. Please beware this tranny should be recalled
