This car is a toxic relationship!
Let's start with the good stuff. Car is super fun to drive. Handles magnificently, brakes are excellent and it's indeed a pocket rocket. It feels faster than it actually is but still love the fun this car can provide. Sport mode makes it even better! However, this car is constantly in the shop for repairs. Ignition coils have to be replaced anytime. I have changed multiple hoses, thermostat and spark plugs multiple times. This last time, car was misfiring when I floored it around 4-5k RPM. It came up with poor compression in one cylinder. Most engine internals were replaced to prevent future problems, valve stem seals, and cylinder head repaired. NO solution yet. Car is still misfiring after spending a lot of money. This car has been down almost 5 months per year since I bought it. Periodic repairs and visits to the shop for random problems. If you don't have another car, run away from this vehicle. It's a beauty to drive but comes with a big cost, and I'm not speaking about money only. You will lose your patience, time and money. Most likely, you will forget about it when you drive it again but in my honest opinion, it's not worth it. This car is really annoying. It doesn't matter if you take good care of it, it will still drive you crazy. Imagine if you don't!

Worth the wait
Traded my Buddy 06 dark Gray s conv (which I messed up trying to modify an automatic) 2011 is a total beast, horizon blue, subdued but classy ( no racing strips on this one) feel like "James Bond " (keep dreaming), premium package a bit too much chrome, probably swap side mirror caps for blue 06 felt like a toy, this machine is the real deal, powerful, stable, a blast to drive in sport mode ( feels like a BMW/ Audi sport car with mini quirkiness. So I'm in Boston w/ first new convertible on the block, sure to be a head Turner
Like / Dislike Relationship
I’ve had this car for 12 years. It has 68k miles on it. It’s a manual transmission. I use it to predominantly for my 10-mile commute to work. And I dislike this car. Cons: doors are very long and heavy. If someone parks close to you, it’s hell to get into. Windows are long too, so if the driver’s side is cracked the wind blows your hair forward from the back of your head. The roof is narrower than the body - be prepared for torrents of water to fall into your car when you open the door (the roof rain channels aren’t adequate to prevent this). The run flat tires cause the car to bounce all over the road (particularly the rubble that passes for roads in the San Francisco Bay Area). I’ve long since replaced the run flats knowing I’ll have to call AAA for a tow if I get a flat because there’s no room in the car for a spare. I figure that’s less risky than bouncing into the lane next to me. The low height of the car has some interesting drawbacks: most oncoming vehicles’ lights are at my eye level; and, if I’m first in line at a stop light, I have to hunch down to see the signal at all. I have heated leather seats. You can feel the heating coils through the padding (or lack thereof). Despite being a different color than the ubiquitous gray/black/white on the freeway (my car is sky blue), NO ONE sees me other than the cops! I’ve been sideswiped four times (once by a motorcyclist who then flipped ME off!) and full on hit once. I’ve also been pulled over 8 times in 12 years (two resulted in tickets). Cabin noise is loud. I just drown that out by blasting music, but if a quiet ride is important to you, you’ll hate this car. Pros: the car withstands a beating well (see above mentioned sideswipes and crash). It is quite capable of speed, and accelerates admirably. It is not pushed around by the wind, and hugs the road in a rainstorm. The car is sturdy and it’s cute. Granted, this model is smaller than current models and has a lower profile, so some of my whining perhaps isn’t applicable to a newer model. I’ve kept the car so long because it offered more bang for the buck than anything comparable I could replace it with (other than a Honda Civic which I’m sick of seeing). Plus it’s paid off.
