2010 Mazda CX-7 Misery

I purchaed a new CX-7 in Sept 2010. There are major flaws you need to be aware of before you buy. I learned the hard way and ended up trading the vehicle for a Nissan Murano. 1. Excessive road noise during highway driving. My wife & I commented to each other we needed ear plugs to drown out the tire noise. Apparently, Mazda did not sound proof the undercarriage. 2. Air conditioning is inadequate during hot summer days. We live in Georgia where the summers get hot, and the air conditioning system in this car can't keep up, not even close. So between the road noise and lack of a good air conditioner, the comfort factor is very poor, so poor I had trade the vehice.

I purchased mine used at 35k miles back in 2013 and it is still running strong at almost 91k miles today May 29th of 2019. In that time, in regards to larg fixes, I have only had to change breaks once, battery once, headlights twice, fan belt once, new air conditioner coolant, 3 or 4 oil changes, air filter change, and one tire change. All periodically and at entirely different times, plus, I had my headlights changed one by my fiance which only costed me like $40. Cosmetically, I need to get the driver side window motors fixed or get the window tract fixed bc they are at the point of needing some assistance halfway through rolling them up electronically. Once I pull up a little then push the little window button it allows the window to continue going up. It costs approx $250 to fix, so I've just been avoiding it for now since it's not that big of a deal. I am a mother to a toddler who is about to be 4 amd this Suv is beyond perfect and practical for everything I need. It holds large items when needed, it is able to handle long drives, handles well in the snow, feels sturrdy and safe to drive in rainy weather, and offers a ton of great features to keep everyone satisfied. Not to mention, I always get questions about this SUV and compliments on it. It looks and feels amazing. Someone on here reviewed that their car started shaking and that no one could figure out what it was. I couldn't help but remember a time i got a flat tire from a nail and had an off the road quick repair done to the tire that then caused my car to start shaking whenever I reached 65mph on the freeway. No one, no mechanic shop or even the dealership could figure out what the cause was. It wasn't until I was brought up my tire getting repaired (with those spray bottles they sell at most gas stations that basically goes into the tire and hardens the inside walls to seal the repair spot where rubber was placed) that someone told me to go change that tire and it will be fixed. I took it to Radial Tire expecting to purchase a used tire and told them my reason why I needed one. They were so nice and told me they could just use a machine they have that sucks that hard stuff out of the tire then properly seal the tire for me. That saved me about $200 . They did just that, made sure all tires were evenly filled with air and told me to take the car onto the frwy. It worked beautifully! So, I'm wondering, if the owners didn't do this... what if someone else drove that owners car, got a flat and did a quick repair without the owners knowledge, therefore not allowing the owner to have the opportunity to mention that to any of the places he/she took their car, which ultimately left them thinking it was an unexplainable issue with the vehicle itself. Just a thought since no I've could figure out the issue. This car is worth the periodic fixes here and there. I'm going to be so sad when it's time to get another.

An Okay Car, But it Went Down Fast

Our 2010 Mazda CX-7 was a decent enough replacement car after an accident. We had it for 5 years, from 2013-2018. It started wobbling and shaking one day in July, and no mechanic could figure it out. We went through a lot of money trying to fix it, then threw in the towel. One mechanic hit the nail on the head when she said Mazdas are good cars, but when they go bad, they go bad fast.

The CX7 is a beautiful vehicle and that's what drew me in, but man do I regret buying it! This is the car that actually made me hate driving. I bought my CX7 new in 2010 when I had to retire my 2000 Cougar, which I had had for 10 years. I thought the CX7 would be a good fit for me since it kind of seemed like a bigger version of the Cougar! It took about 6 months for me to totally hate the CX7, but I had to keep it for 2 years before finally being able to afford trading it.

I too have had my car a 1 1/2 months and I luv it! I get more compliments on the color (black cherry!) than anything else. Luv the "handsfree" device. I have the Sport i and it is equipped with Sirus radio, but I opt. not to use it; I use bluetooth audio (connected to my Blkberry) instead, and listen to my Pandora; saves about $12.0 bucks a month. One small draw is the leg room in the back...not good for a tall person.
