A great value
We traded in a 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI Autobahn for a 2019 Lexus UX 200 with Premium Package in Eminent White Pearl with Birch interior. At the time of this review, I have driven this car for 850 miles. The UX is the cheapest way to get into the Lexus brand via a new car. The window sticker for our car was $36,718 and it comes with plenty of features that make up for a great value: Moonroof, auto dimming inner rearview mirror with compass and homelink, rain sensing wipers, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, power rear hatch door with kick sensor, blind spot, full safety suite with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking, parking assist (sensors in the front and back of car), pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and road sign assist (the car has a camera that will recognize speed limit, yield, do not enter, stop, and a few other signs and display them in the instrument cluster). I think the key is to keep this car under $40k and not get it fully loaded. We decided against the F Sport package as well as the upgraded 10 inch screen. If you’re considering this car, you’ve likely read and watched some video reviews already and you might be concerned about the power and if it’s adequate. I’m finding this car to be plenty powerful around town, and I’m coming from a VW GTI which is much quicker. While this car is slower, it does not feel as slow as some people are making it out to be. Put the car in Sport mode and you have plenty of power to accelerate around town and on the freeway. Our other vehicle is a 2018 Lexus RX450h F Sport. I’m surprised how many features this UX has that either carry over from the current gen RX or are even better. For example, the RX has a heated steering wheel but it’s only an on/off button, whereas the UX has an auto feature and two stages (high and low). You also have the new Lexus Concierge which turns both front seats and the steering wheel on “Auto” and all three will adjust to the climate control. Of course, you also get Apple CarPlay which the majority of the Lexus lineup still doesn’t have. Another thing that I was surprised to learn was that the UX offers a black headliner with certain interior colors — even without having to opt for the F Sport package. This is something I always prefer to have in a car, and it’s nice to not need the F Sport package just to get it. Speaking of the interior, we had a tough time deciding between the black interior vs. birch interior. We ended up with birch which is a very, very light gray (almost looks white). Most people were advising against it in favor of maintenance, but we took the risk and are so happy with the decision (so far). The black is just too dark, especially on the doors where nothing seems to break up the design other than the door handle. With birch, you get a little more contrast. The seats are extremely comfortable and the car glides like butter. You don’t feel like you’re driving the “cheap” Lexus. It’s actually very smooth, quiet, refined, and more fun in Sport mode than I would have thought. The back seat is pretty small, but you can still fit adults back there as long as all passengers aren’t 6+ ft tall. Here are my gripes: (1) We’re not quite getting the 33 combined MPG. I’ll continue to monitor and update this review as time goes on though. (2) There’s a lack of storage throughout. No sunglass holder, side pockets in front doors are small and they don’t exist in the rear doors. But that’s about it so far. We love everything else. Do yourself a favor and consider this vehicle! You get so much for your money, including Lexus reliability and an impressive warranty. **UPDATE March 2020 (1 yr later)** We're still loving our UX! It has been reliable the entire time. We now have 15k miles on the car and have only gone to the dealer for 5k, 10k, 15k services. At the 10k service we mentioned a slight rattle in the front passenger door when playing music. The dealer was able to fix it with some insulation of some sort. No other issues to date! We continue to enjoy the smooth ride. The birch interior has also held up really well. It doesn't show any dirt, which is surprising given it's near-white color! **UPDATE Sept 2020 (18 months after purchase)** We are still enjoying this car! We're at just under 20k miles. Recently brought it to the dealer because of a rough shifting from 1st gear to CVT. The master tech performed a software update and checked some other items and it's much better, but still not perfect. I can live with it though. Putting it in Sport mode gets rid of the issue completely. We also had them lubricate the center armrest lid because it started to squeak when opening and closing. It's back to normal now. Looking forward to bringing the car on a road trip in a couple weeks. Last time, we got over 40 mpg on average while in Eco mode averaging about 68 MPH.

So What’s Not to Like
I traded in a ‘16 RX350 for this ‘19 UX 200. Believe it or not this car is even more refined and immensely more satisfying. I could not believe how extremely quiet and isolated the smaller SUV has become. It absolutely turns on a dime. It is tremendously responsive in every detail from breaking to steering to every input you can conceive. The updated electronics are amazing. The screens are so much brighter than prior Lexus’s with pinpoint detail and super high resolution. The graphics are lightning quick and now up to date, even futuristic. The car has a low center of gravity and the F sport model gives a firm turn with a Lexus cush. I am 6’2” and headroom is not a question. My bright red F Sort model with roof rails was a mostly loaded model and stickered at $40,393 lacking the head up display and the memory seating as well as the triple beam headlights but included every other option. Fill-ups are $19 for the 12.4 gallon tank and the mileage is true at 32 city. I even get 42 highway when they publish the expected mpg at 39. I get a new car every 20 months or so and I have not loved a car this much in a long time...actually ever. My recent prior autos: 2016 LEXUS RX350 GREAT; 2015 BMW X3 DISLIKED; 2015 MERCEDES GLK HATED; 2015 HONDA CIVIC LOVED; 2014 ACURA TLX DISLIKED;

Great Lexus Value
I just leased this car, and love the flexibility. Currently, I also drive the LC500, and needed a more flexible car, with additional space for extra passengers, and to do shopping for larger items. I have had 8 Lexus' since 2001. I love this car. The size is perfect, the look is sporty, interior is not as expensive as my other Lexus', but I really needed a daily driver, to go to work and leave it parked in the parking lot. I will drive my LC500 for the flash, power, performance, and attention.

I am so in love with my Lexus UX 200 FSport
I was apprehensive at first , but as soon as I started to drive it and felt the difference of what I was driving ! All the features , all the details, to drive it is an experience. I love the way it handles on the highway. The so hated track pad is so easy to use . I can Charge my phone without a cable . To answer my calls and message. My son programmed the garage door opener and it is a huge difference rather than have a bulky remote . Since I am not planning on having more kids , the Space is just perfect for me . No complaints so far

Replaces Mazda CX5 with Lexus UX200 - Happy!
I was looking for a Car from a Premium brand that I would use for regular commute mostly in the City of LA. For the price, fuel economy, reliability, resale and safety - Lexus UX200 was a GREAT buy for me. I looked at X1, Q3 and GLA, they all have certain things (like rear space for passengers in X1 and the cargo space etc.,) going better compared to Lexus whereas certain other things (fuel economy, base price, reliability etc.,) not so great. I got the base version with some extras like Sunroof, Power rear door, Rear view mirror with compass and Homelink etc., Overall, for what I was looking for as a new entrant into the Luxury car segment, driving the car in Los Angeles for commute, this worked out so well for me. I kept my Mazda CX-5 for 6 years before selling it now. I hope I keep this Lexus UX200 longer with almost no expenses for any big maintenance.

I LOVE this car
I retired in March and had to turn in my company car. I looked around several months before deciding this was the car for me. I thought I wanted a NX, but as I am the primary driver and don't have kids to tote around, the UX turned out to be the perfect size for me. I'm so glad I bought the hybrid - it's peppy and gets a fantastic 41mpg. The controls are easy to use and unlike many, I find the info system easy to use - possibly because I use a touchpad with my laptop. Apple Carplay works great so I didn't need the nav system. I bought the base model but it had every option available, so it's loaded with everything I wanted. There really isn't anything I would change on this car. I'm a happy camper.

Great Luxury Crossover
The vehicle is reasonably priced. It has exceptional gas mileage especially on the highway. It's exterior and interior are beautifully designed and it drives like a car. I am reasonably happy with driving this vehicle as I have driven 3 models of the IS 250.

Best Bang For Your Buck
I needed a replacement car in a hurry. Had no idea UX even existed until I logged on to my local Lexus dealer. I walked in and told them exactly which car I selected from inventory. Best decision I have made. I get an average of 38-40mpg and my UX isn’t even a hybrid version. I haven’t seen but 3 UX’ on the road since I purchased mine brand new in 2020. I like not being every 3rd vehicle on the road. It’s sporty and yet still provides the luxury that Lexus brings to the table. I am single so I didn’t need a bunch of room to haul children and gear and yet I can drop the back seats and fit my hybrid bicycle in without issue. I love the app features to remote start, cool or heat the interior as well as unlock/lock your car. Maintenance costs on this car is minimal compared to many other luxury models I priced. If you’re looking for a car with class with an added bit of sass, then this is the car for you. They even have an F Sport model for those wanting to take things to the next level. This is a 4 cylinder so not much punch when you hit the accelerator from a dead stop at first but it will get up and go when needed.

Good car with sketchy steering
I have put 5,000 miles on my Lexus UX200. My gas mileage is 37 mpg and the car is comfortable and versatile. The only problem is the steering. At high speeds the car has a tendency to wander requiring constant steering corrections. It almost feels like something is loose in the steering linkage. The dealer has advised that the steering is within specs and the tires are properly inflated. For the inexperienced driver it could pose a problem especially when driving on twisty roads. Otherwise the car is reliable and comfortable with good gas mileage. I previously reviewed my 2019 Lexus UX200 and reported problems with the steering that could cause problems for an inexperienced driver. I have to make constant corrections to the steering to keep the vehicle on track. Every time I take the vehicle in for service I am told the steering is correct. I finally figured out what the problem is. The vehicle is equipped with "Lane Tracking Assist" technology which constantly interferes with the steering by making unnecessary corrections to the path of the vehicle. When turned on it misreads grooves in the asphalt as lane markers and will actually steer you out of the lane instead of keeping you within the lane. It is dangerous because it misreads the roadbed on turns and in areas where there is road construction. It also misreads the lane markers when it is raining or in snow. The only safe setting for this function is "OFF". Once turned off the steering works normally. The problem is that the vehicles are shipped with this function on as the default setting and the dealers are oblivious to the problem.

ITS JUST OK>
I bought this car one year ago. First 4 cylinder car I've owned since I had a 1934 Chevy at age 15. It has great gas mileage, but not the smooth feel of my 2013 ES350. $35,000 seems over priced for this car. I feel like I should have opted for the Honda CHR or the Small Toyota, whatever its called. So much cabin noise
while driving road noise is louder than music. car started to shake and making noise after 8k miles. i have put on about 12k miles now. mpg is around 28 on eco mode and im driving in highways mostly in florida. luckily i was leasing this car and i just can’t imagine the noises this car will make once it gets older. run flat tires aren’t the only thing to blame here.

Lexus UX 200 38 mpg-NOT a hybrid
I just took a trip via mountain roads, beach and highway_-1800 total miles with average 38 MPG. Mine is NOT a hybrid. Just the Lexus UX 200. Very pleased with the performance but a touch screen would make it better. No problem with any acceleration issues-managed to keep up with the others. Very pleased with comfort and performance. Note: I had to chose the hybrid in order to post.
Better than expected
Tight steering , better accent than I expected , perfect size . Love the technology but need to be a computer programmer with a masters degree to figure it out . But it’s a real great suv for the money

Is this really a Lexus?
- Under powered, rating is 169 horsepower but my heavier Chevy is 150 horsepower, heavier, but far quicker. Acceleration rate is lethargic to the point were it is almost dangerous. - Noisy, road noise is atrocious, almost unbearable. Engine roar is unavoidable to get up to any speed but it is not a pleasant sound - Infotainments system has serious flaws. It is hard to use. You cannot listen to music from a USB stick while using Android Auto, everybody else allows this. Waze is not supported on Android Auto, once again, this works for everybody else. - Don't put anything valuable in the front door pockets, it will fall out when you open the door. I had my keys and wallet both fall out and if I wasn't paying attention I will have had the car stolen since it would have locked with the keys on the ground and left behind. - Adaptive cruise control does not work well at slow speed, it cannot decide what to do. Also if you are at stop and hit the resume it will try to run into the car in front of you if it starts and stops. - Brake hold is nice to have but if you leave it on and park, sometimes the electric parking brake engages on its own even if you don't have it set to engage automatically. This ran down the battery on my car. Seats are not comfortable, I found it difficult to find good driving position that didn't leave me sore after an hour of driving Update: After driving other cars in this class I would lower my rating if I could. I refuse to drive to anymower.

Worst experience I ever had
I have UX 200 F-Sport 2019 and the car came without carplay and official dealship deny anything related to this technology as previously announced, in general the infotainment system is very sluggish and missing basic features and included features not working or useless like Wifi have no any use, No apps available just an icon, Navigation is from 2018 and caused me lost twice. Recently the car engine started to have problems like sudden stop while driving, abnormal vibrations while stop in traffic light with vibrated RPM indicator. That was my first experience with Lexus and will be the last, it’s scary and I don’t feel safe anymore in such car with my family. And unfortunately the dealership and official service center doesn’t help except saying everything is ok with the car and I just the one who is suffering. Totally not recommend this car.

Nice for the price!
I purchased my UX200 in July 2021 and now have 22,000 miles on it. I wish it had a turbo engine, but it still has plenty of power in most cases. I get 35 mpg so I am very pleased with that. The interior is the nicest of any car I have ever owned with all the features since it came with the premium package . Love the ventilated seats and the concierge feature!

The Little Lexus That Could!!
I'll try to make this quick and simple. The UX200 is definitely zippy around town and power is still decent on highways but won't give you a Nascar Cup. I was eyeing the UX250H hybrid but personal reviews said why pay a few more thousands dollars when the UX200 still gets great MPG. I found those reviews to be right. I get about 42 MPG on highway with Eco mode on going about 70 MPH and that comes with rolling hills and some flat highways. In the city I get about 30-32 MPG depending how late I am. =) This is a solid vehicle for sure only wished the base model came with the cargo mat and rear cargo cover. Also, the car should have came with a spare tire. That is my only gripe but overall I am very pleased and happy with my UX200.

Hybrid Not Worth It
The electric hybrid engine adds a bit more HP and AWD is standard on the 200h. However, the Hybrid/AWD system shuts down at speeds above 45 mph. Lastly, how long will it take average drivers to recoup the mpg savings offered by the hybrid version (6+ years). Go with the UX 200 in any trim level.
