The car works on engine but battery mode is not working now. It shows battery charged but no action in hybrid mode The cruise control stopped working also

I wanted a car with better gas mileage - this one should fit the bill perfectly. It had 3 prior owners and looked a "little rough" but the dealership promised to spiff it up.
