Underpowered, too many compromises.
Purchased RX350L new about seven months ago. Cross-shopped plenty of competitors. Wife and I agree if we had to do it over again, we would get something else. Let's start with the negatives. The 350L is underpowered by at least 20% and there is no more powerful engine option (hybrid is less powerful). Most competitors have at least a twin turbo V6 option or similar that bring horsepower to somewhere between 375 and 450hp and similar lb-ft torque numbers. The RX350L is dog slow around town, and if you even remotely hustle it to keep up, city MPG drops to about 12-13. It's just too much mass and not enough engine, especially low-end torque. Next, the vehicle is difficult to see out of compared to competitors, particularly B-pillar forward. Next, the third row is a joke size-wise, although we knew that going in. Serves our purposes for a Labrador Retriever on road trips, but otherwise we keep it stowed because it can't really be used for actual people, even young kids due to child seats. That said, the L does offer a nice amount of cargo room with the third row down and could be worth it if you just need more room in the back. Next on the negatives, the RX is incredibly softly sprung. We knew it wasn't a BMW during the test drive, but after living with it for half a year, it's just too boat-like in its suspension calibration. Maybe not 70s American sedan bad, but the RX350L does not give confidence on anything other than straight highways. Feel very disconnected, which I guess is the Lexus interpretation of luxury (hence to hushed interior). Next, a lot of the technology lags competitors significantly ... from infotainment to drivetrain. The infotainment system is maddeningly difficult to use with the trackpad (thank goodness a touchscreen was added), vehicle still even has a CD player! CarPlay is still wired only. USB slots are almost all USB-A instead of USB-C. At least the safety technology is decent. Lastly, the styling means there are a lot of odd creases and protrusions that make it easier than one would think to scrape or bump exterior trim during low speed maneuvers in parking garages, etc. We haven't done this ourselves yet, but have come maddeningly close a couple times. Quick note on how dealers were forced to configure the RX350Ls on the lot during the 2022 model year, assumingely because of supply chain problems. We tried up and down to locate a 350L (or even a 450hL) with the "luxury" package (panoramic roof, side window shades, wood and leather steering wheel, leather seating, head-up display, etc.), Mark Levinson audio system, and the triple-beam headlights. Could not find ANY 2022 RX350L in the country or on order with all these options, particularly the Levinson audio. Really made the RX350L we purchased more of a compromise than we wanted, especially compared to competitors. There are some plusses to the RX350L. The RX350L is indeed very quiet and smooth. Can't deny that. It is very much a comfortable road trip car on flat, uncrowded roads. The seats are more comfortable than most. The "NuLuxe" seating material is easy to clean if you have kids. The 3.5L V6 is a tried and tested engine that's been used in millions of Toyota-family vehicles for decades. There's no forced induction, no mild or heavy hybrid system ... basically, it's a dead simple drivetrain and reliable as anything on the road and easy to maintain/repair. Which just adds to the Lexus/Toyota reputation for quality. Which is -- far and away -- the main reason we bought the RX350L. And true to form, there's only one very minor annoyance with the remote locking system, but otherwise it's worked as expected. The interior technology is probably the least sophisticated of its peers, which also means less to go wrong. Still using analog gauges in front of the driver. The safety technology is a decent standard suite, but nothing more than what can be specced on non-luxury vehicles. Blind spot warning, lane keeping assist, radar cruise control. Rear cross traffic braking was an additional option, which IMO should be standard. Also, one of the options we were unable to find was a safety option: a panoramic camera. My wife and I have a bit of an inside joke that the median age of RX350 owners is post-retirement age because that's usually who we see driving them. No disrespect intended; it's just the target market for this vehicle. I can see why ... it's a comfortable, leisurely car that is likely to be trouble free for a long time with proper maintenance. Nothing really wrong with that. However, we realized (too late) that we wanted more power and handling capability (such as a midsize three row SUV will offer) and a few of those options on which we had to sacrifice. So much that we are willing to maybe trade off that Lexus repetitional quality to get it. We'll probably be looking to trade in after interest rates retreat and we have more equity in the vehicle.

It is a Lexus
3rd row seats good for small animals! But, we have two; animals that is. It is a Lexus though, with the best reliability on the market. Would buy again.

Purchased because of 3rd row seat
I purchased the RX 350L because of its 3rd row seat. Very disappointed in the lack of room afforded in the 3rd row. Barely enough leg room for a young child. This is first Lexus (my 4th) that I have been a bit disappointed. Otherwise the car runs great and meets all other expectations.

Amazing SUV Luxury - 2018 Lexus 350L AWD
Friends had touted the quality, dependability and luxury their Lexus vehicles offered but I was content with a BMW 5-series for the past 10+ years. When I had to press hard to get the dealer to repair a faulty AC unit under warranty, I decided it was time to give Lexus a test drive. I was immediately impressed by the quality, attention to detail, performance, and comfort of the vehicle and the incredible, personable service of Rohrich Lexus in Pittsburgh. Within a few days, we had narrowed our color and feature choices and our salesman had located a vehicle for us. The vehicle was six hours away and was transported by truck to the dealer for our brand new delivery. We love this Lexus and regret not exploring the brand sooner. It's safety and luxury features are amazing and extremely intuitive.
