Permanent 4WD vehicle makes this the envy of Winter weather driving.

I owned mine from 2000 - 2013. I really love the ruggedness of the ride. I got rock sliders, a bull bar with Hella lights and was ready for the snow, mud, flood, you name it. The Chawton white with the tan interior was beautiful. Yes, it was very cool and everyone seemed to love it. I finally traded it in at around 130,000 miles. Here are the negatives 1) many issues, spent a lot of time at two dealerships - they tried hard to upsell me. 2) I took it on long road trips (Canada Twice, WV twice,) and it was unreliable with a busted radiator hose or over heating in general 3) had to replace the head gaskets twice. (Glad I bought the extended warranty). 4) there was no appreciation like the Defender But I’m on this page because I really miss my Disco 2.

I owned this car for two weeks before the problems started. First a computer chip needed to be replaced that controlled my trannie..$400. Then the problem happened again. So after replacing it again, we decided to take a look at the engine. Oil leaking from the block. Found out we had a head gasket leak, a warped manifold and the pistons were not fireing properly. $2000.00. Also, you have to take it to the dealer and pay $120 an hr for labor. Then the car leaked coolant inside on the floor. Replaced a hose, cost $400. The dealer looked up the VIN and they found out that almost every major computer part in the car has been replaced previously.
