My New Jeep is a LEMON

I have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe that has been nothing but a lemon! There have been about 6 recalls, I've had to drive with no heat, or defrost in winter and once was out of state on a 4 hour trip! I live in SD and this was always with below freezing temps. Even after the defrost recall, I had issues with the heat not working. Recently, they fixed the battery recall and the very next day, the orange wrench comes on and says to fix electrical. Once, the car even quit on me and sometimes, our music won't play. The dealership, Billion Automotive, has been horrible and does nothing about this and tells me they can try to fix it. They admit it's been in the repair shop so much they will let out of my lease, if I pay the fee! I don't want another Jeep and I just want out of my lease, with no further obligations and feel that should be taken care of by Chrysler for all of the times I've suffered with this car. I'm a realtor and a foster mom, so I drive a lot. Apparently, my Jeep didn't qualify for the buy back, maybe because it has 23,000 miles, but they wouldn't tell me the reason.

Battery should provide you with more miles . If you had 50 miles of electric this car would be a home run

Most frustrating vehicle EVER!

I loved Jeep, especially the Grand Cherokee. Looks good, rides nice with a little bit of luxury. Nothing feels cheap about it. However, this Jeep has been problem after problem with no resolution. Immediately there were recalls that I received, nothing that seemed too significant; the rear view mirror camera had an issue. Simple stuff that wasn’t too serious. Then it started, the U-arm for the steering wheel, the control arm and then the high voltage battery that could combust at any moment. With the battery issue I was warned the battery could explode at any point, so charging was not suggested and parking away from structures and building was advises. There was no fix for this issue for approx. 5 months. Finally, an update came out. That was it, an update! Other issues I’ve had and currently still dealing with, the heater has been an issue since 17k miles. It was fixed for last winter but once again isn’t working this winter at 30k miles. The heater works intermittently, with no understanding of why it works sometimes and not others. I’ve taken it in 4 times and ride with the mechanic foreman and he agreed it was blowing cooler are for being on high heat. I have a thermometer in the vent and watch the temp blow warm air but then rapidly drops from 120 degrees down to 50 degrees. I’ve been in 16 degree weather and had no heat. Absolutely frustrating. The next unresolved issue is the service 4wd light that keeps going on and off. They say it’s a sensor issue but I’d rather not find out that I don’t have 4wd in the middle of a snow storm going up to the mountains and slide off the cliff. The latest light that has come up is a red wrench that says service high voltage battery system. This is post the update for the recall. I currently have a lemon case going with this vehicle and can’t wait to get out from under this Jeep. I was advised to call customer service. Which was literally a daily headache for a month straight. No body would call back when they said they would, I spent hours upon hours on hold, was passed to a dozen different people, and ultimately was rejected that my car was a lemon even though it’s been in multiple times for the same reason, and (at the time) there was no resolution for the recall. I’m really bummed this car is such a problem, again, I loved Jeeps.

The Summit

I've been pleased with my purchase. The amenities are great: huge sunroof, seat warmers, seat massagers, hybrid with full electric ability, suspension lifts and lowers with button, night vision on dashboard, etc. I work 7 miles from home so I've been able to ride on full electric with no need for gas. I will say though, that the only annoying thing is that a full charge only allows for 26 miles of traveling. It also has charge regenerating ability so it gradually recharges as you drive. It works for me because I work so close to home, so I charge about every other day...and if I dont charge I just go off of gasoline. The other challenge with charging, is that if you use your normal home outlet, it takes like 13hrs to charge from E to Full...that's a long time. I'm still happy with my truck and it's design and style are killer sweet. My only wish would've been for the electric charge to render a higher amount of miles traveled...to at least 50miles.
