Has Your Car's Value Changed?
Used car values are constantly changing. Edmunds lets you track your vehicle's value over time so you can decide when to sell or trade in.
Decent car, but engine seized up at 96k miles.
It was covered by warranty so not a huge deal, but odd that it would seize up at that mileage. Apparently it happens in certain year models, but not often enough to issue a recall?
More then you expect and pay for.
Owned gls with pop package for six months now. Fantastic car in this segment. Perfect performance everytime. Remote start installed and have had 0 problems. No adjustments, no glitches. Tire noise on rough roads gets a bit noisy, but mainly due to low resistance tires enhancing road noise. Smooth road....like butta! Suspension smooth and controlled, but not floaty. No rattles, squeeks, noises..(except loose objects in top of console will rattle.). Placed liner in and rattling stopped. Many dress up options on ebay, including chrome wheel skins for only 69.00 set of four. Car looks expensive, but doesn't give buyers remorse. Tons of room, seats comfortable. MPG 23/35 avg with eco.

Love my Sonata!
This is my second Hyundai and I love it. The SE turbo with paddle shifters is both fast and comfortable. A great travel car but still fun during the daily commute. Sexy and sleek. I will never buy anything but a Hyundai.

Steering Problems! Think before you buy.
Overall, this car is not worth buying. Plagued with rattles and wind noise right off the lot, and more importantly, the steering. The Sonata's steering is entirely too sensitive and requires constant correction on the highway. Don't let the dealer tell you it's because it has electric power steering, this is not why something is wrong with the steering. Go drive another car with electric power steering and you will find it to be worlds more comfortable to control than the Sonata. My arm is literally tired from keeping it in a straight line. If you go on a test drive, try staying in the middle of your lane; it is impossible. This steering problem is a safety issue.
Efficient, Reliable, and Drivable
The best features of the 2013 Sonata are its fuel efficiency, its reliability, and its "drivability." According to the car's dash display, the car has measured at 35-40 mpg on longer road trips and averages around 28-30 mpg combined. Having had the car for 6 years almost and having driven over 100k miles, I expected to have made at least one major repair by now but that has not been the case. The largest "problem" we have encountered was a burnt taillight assembly. The acceleration on the car is not always the best, especially when driving up any sort of incline, but the car handles well at all times, brakes efficiently, and the engine is more than capable of sustaining power on level ground. One drawback would be cargo space (although there is quite a bit of space in the trunk it cannot always fit awkward or bulky items well, such as strollers and yard work tools). Another drawback is the deterioration of some aesthetic features; some of the plastic on the steering wheel components peels with normal use and the cloth seats also show signs of wear even without extreme use. Overall I would suggest the 2013 Sonata to those who are looking for a fuel efficient, reliable vehicle that performs to average standards.
