Love this car
I bought mine new in May 2011. I've got about 15,000 miles on it now. I love this car. Granted, I spent a little more to get the touchscreen nav system, the alloy wheels, and premium audio...but other than that, it's pretty much a regular GLS. I love driving this thing. I have seen some of the other reviews of people saying this car is really disappointing...I don't think that's the norm. The design is just very well thought out. Ergonomically it's a dream...and there is a TON of room inside. It's actually deceptively roomy because it doesn't look like it's as roomy as it actually is. The car runs perfectly and Hyundai also offers great support.
The Accord Killer
1-Just purchased this week so no personal data on longevity of build quality or reliability; will review again at a later date 2-We came straight from the Honda dealership where my wife had just driven the exact Accord she wanted, highest trimline, leather etc, favorite exterior color ect: she would have bought it on the spot but I asked her drive the Sonata first based on good reviews by Edmunds and Consumer reports 3-The instant I sat in the Sonata I could tell the seat was more comfortable with better lumbar support 4-Ride was quieter with much less road vibration on intersate and overall a more refined experience

1 Year FollowUp - NY/NJ Driver (mixed hw/city)
I am at my 1 year mark and ~ 15K miles. I have noticed no deterioration in performance. Have not been in shop other than 3 oil changes with my mechanic (I was told not to go by the book for oil changes, I am using synthetic and change every 4.5K instead of book's 7.5K). I drive to work in a carpool, drive my 4 year old to day care and take it weekend shopping. No problems with inertia front or back. No problem with seat fabric or plastics.
Low Tire Pressure
I bought this car in April of 2011. All through summer and now into the winter, the low tire pressure light has been coming on and I have to bring it into the dealership and have them record it since it is a leased car. They say its because of the weather getting cold but on 80 degree days, I dont believe that at all! Other than that, it is a great car, very big and spacious. Though, very EASY to hit curbs!
Great For Mkt Segment Comparison
Sonata GLS 6A is over 7 months old now with over 15,000 miles. Never had below 30 mpg per tank, mid to high 30s on long trips. There are intermittent creaks & vibrations. Don't expect a perfect car, never knew one exist. Otherwise, there will be only 1 car, 1 model. Dislike rear view on new cars, can't see out when backing. Installed Gentex auto dimming mirror w rear camera to correct shortcoming. Most new cars are like that now, sadly. 11.3 compression GDI engine is louder before warmed up. When go for mpg, you have to give up something, OK to me. Not so noticeable when warmed up, but still louder than conventional engines if you open hood to listen. Factory insulation helped. :-)
