it's not a lexus
It's an excellent value for the money. The body style is the thing that first called my attention to this car. I have noted that, over the past 5 years, so many other makes, foreign and domestic, have copied all or parts of the body style. The engine has been extremely reliable as have the braking system. There were some front end suspension problems which have been corrected under my warranty. Warranty is excellent.

Junk in my opinion
Have a 2011 hyundai sonata limited 2.4l engine! Have had trouble with the passenger side door latch, trouble keeping the bulbs in the headlights and taillights, now when the ac is turned on it sounds like popcorn popping, and the car doesn't want to start! Anyone else had this problem

Worst Car I have Ever Owned
Up until today, I would have told you I was pretty pleased with my Sonata. However, with 85K miles my engine is dead. Driving to work today, the engine started knocking, the check engine light came on, and about 5 seconds later the car just died (while I was driving.) I was fortunate not to be on the interstate, and was able to coast to a safe side road. I am the second owner, so the 100K warranty doesn't transfer to me. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care, and they said sorry, but what do you want me to do about it. The cost to replace the engine is $5700. I will now have a loan for my car, and a loan for my engine. I have read on other sites that the 2011 won Beware of the Clunker Award.
Flawed beyond belief
I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata which I was excited to purchase as a second car. If I was aware of the flawed engine I would have passed. At 111k the vehicle decided to breakdown in the form of a seized engine with no warning. I’m the second owner a found out by research it had 7 recalls completed 2 during my time as the second owner. I had a recall to install the Knock sensor which never engaged nor did the oil light come on to alert me of low oil which is another problem in itself. After 1k miles I had to put oil in the vehicle which became a common occurrence. I was not advised of the class action suit which I found on line and promptly responded. My car is currently at a dealer to be looked at. I have a case number and a rep from Hyundai corporate I’m hoping they do what’s right and repair the car I refuse to pay the 4G for a replacement. As a result I will never purchase this vehicle again and I’ve lost all faith in Hyundai since I ride in one in 2010 and decided it was the car for me.
