Best car I've owned in 50 years

What's left to say? My first rattle trap of a car was a '58 Chevy. Since then I've owned Ford, GM, Dodge/Ram, Triumph (talk about love/hate!), BMW/Mini, Mazda, Toyota, Nissan, and Lexus. The mid-1990s Lexus LS400 was a very good car that was at the leading edge of the industry in many ways. It does not compare to the Hyundai. The Sonata is a far cry from being at the leading edge of automotive technology but Hyundai has gotten everything right. It is the best car I've owned. Period. I wouldn't be selling it if I wasn't moving out of the US. I can't take it with me. That's OK though. I'll buy another when I get settled.

Engine failure at 16 months -47k miles

I thought I did good research before purchasing this car. What I did not do is look at consumer complaints in class action lawsuits against the engine. They settled a class action lawsuit a year I purchased my car. My car was 16 months old when the engine broken to pieces. Because I had trouble cross country oil change was over the 3700 suggested oil change miles so they would not repair my engine because my oil change on a new car was not according to recommendation. Where she at when the warranty decided not to cover it they jacked up the price for repairs another $3,000 to a hefty $8,000. When I research my 16 month car now had a market value of $9,000. What's worse then these terrible engines that will break apart is Hyundai look for a reason not to warranty their product. before I even made it to the dealership the guy on the phone told me it was probably rats in my engine would not be covered. They made their determination and then destroyed all the evidence and gave me back my engine parts in the trunk the $8,000 bill. My $30,000 car has a retail value of $9,000 16 months after I purchase it with a broken engine that cost $8,000. Do not buy a Hyundai. Their extended warranty is a rip-off. It is designed to give them loopholes not to pay in small print. What new engine using synthetic oil can't make it ten thousand miles without a oil change without breaking up into pieces? Coincidence that is the same thing as a class action lawsuit that was closed the air about my car? This was a worst purchasing decision I have ever made.

Too new to rate on repairs and maintenance, but the looks are great. The mpg is more than expected with it ranging from 39-56 mpg. Seating is very comfortable, ac works very well in our hot climate

I have been a diehard Nissan and toyota fan for 15+ years. I wasn't looking for a hybrid just and economical daily driver, I test drove chevy, GMC and buick and ford cars and suvs, but then When I drove this and everyday since purchasing it I have been amazed.

Rented in Albuquerque and driven 600 miles in Santa Fe , Taos , mountains and city. Averaged 42 MPG. Performance met expectations. Made me want to buy one except I want a minivan ie Subaru Forester. Give me this in a Forester and I would buy it today.
