Used 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Consumer Reviews
So Far SO good
Really enjoy it. My first hybrid, so I'm still getting used to the braking feel. The hybrid system is seamless and the balance between power and economy is excellent. The car has a very premium feel. The ride is smooth and steering feels consistent. The vented seats work great, and the climate control is strong and flexible. Back seat comfort is high and plenty of room for two passengers with a car seat. Trunk is sizable. I opted not to get the Ultimate, but sometimes wish I had for a better touchscreen, the panoramic roof and some more safety bells and whistles. A few nits: my driver's side window will freeze half way up and head back down; sometimes it takes a few cycles of up and down to get it to close properly. The Limited (no Ultimate) touchscreen is SMALL and doesn't pack a lot of info. The clock and compass are far out of normal drivers sight lines. And I haven't been able to get the driver's seat consistently comfortable. Overall very happy, and would definitely recommend. I chose this over a Mazda 6, which was a close second

2016 Sonata Hybrid
Overall, the car exceeds my expectations. Being a hybrid, I expected slow a climb to reach the speed desired. I was shocked. It has power. The only negative I can say is about the cabin exterior sound quality. The car is very quiet. I can pull up to a car next to me at the light had hear everything being said in the other car. Sometimes even driving down the highway, another car will make a noise that gets your attention. Going what was that, then listening close you determine the source. My old Jeep roared and you heard nothing else. A new world of noises. It drives nice. I have not owned it long. Not even had the first oil change yet. I would like to have the option of power seats in the SE model. Currently, you can only get that with the Limited model and Leather seats.

No spare tire!
We test drove the Hyundai Sonata hybrid, the Ford Fusion hybrid & the Toyota Prius V hybrid. We would have bought the Sonata except for the fact that it did not have a spare tire nor any place to store a spare tire. The battery for the hybrid is in the floor of the truck so there is no space for a spare. That is the sole reason we did not buy this car. It was going to b my wife's car & I did not feel comfortable, and she did not feel safe, driving around w/ only a fix-a-flat. Turns out none of the 2016 Hyundais have spare tires. This was a strategy to save them a lit bit on weight & a little bit on cost. U can buy a donut spare from the dealer for $250-300 but whereas the other Hyundai models have a designated place to put it, the hybrid does not. We own a 2006 Sonata & luv it. We wanted the better gas mileage & would have upgraded had it not been for this issue. The Edmunds expert review does not mention this. We bought the Prius V in the end.

Great fuel economy... in ideal weather
Overall, this is a really nice car, especially for the price. However, I bought it for its fuel economy, and that's unreliable. It can lose up to 15-20% of its capability to save fuel if you have to run the seat warmers and/or climate control for an extended period of time.

Asian Mercedes
Was in MBZ for many years. Became interested in Sonata design in 2011. Liked what I saw. In 2014 finally made the switch and bought a new hybrid LTD. amazing bulletproof vehicle. Recently traded in and bought a 2017 CPO hybrid LTD. truly the finest automobiles in that price range. Still love Benz but Hyundai, in my opinion, has made the LTD sonata their version of a MBZ
