Last Honda
From 2006 MDX Touring(Best car I have ever owned)to the Pilot. Very poor sound engineering. On 3rd set of Michelin tires and still loud road noise. 85 decibels at 60 mph. 95 to 105 decibels at 70 mph! To much hard plastic on the inside. Poor fit and finish. The VCM operation is rough. The 2007-8 Pilot is the better car. Test drove the 2011 Touring model with Michelin LTX M/S2. Very quite and nice ride. Poor fuel mileage. The VCM system works great in the Accord. The Pilot is to heavy for the VCM system to be effective.
Like it so far...
I've had it for about a week now and my family loves it. I've only driven sports coupes and sedans up to this point so the fun-factor is definitely lacking. But it is a very comfortable car for a fairly large family (have a 6 year old and 5 year old, expecting another in December).

Still deciding
I just purchased a 2011 Pilot EX-L with navigation (FWD). It has 19, 000 miles on it. I admit the gas mileage is disappointing, especially considering it does not have 4WD. I am still getting about 20 mpg on the highway, around 15 in town. I agree that the interior appears cheaply made but will withhold judgment until I see how it holds up. I am wondering if anyone else has experience with the FWD model? I live in a snowy area, but in the six years I owned my first pilot, did not once use the 4WD option. Hoping that the traction control and good snow tires will keep me going. One day after I bought the pilot we had a pretty significant snow storm and had no problems...
Honda Pilot 2011 EX-L with RES FWD
I felt regret to get this Pilot. So noisy and gas mileage is not as good as the sticker said. Just got the car for 2 days and found out the defect. The wheel couldn't keep straight, I have to keep it to the right like ~ 15-20 degree to keep my car run straight. Brought to dealer they said that was normal. No way! My wife has the old 2002 Toyota 4Runner and didn't have something like this. I hate my Pilot now.
Stabilizer links
Lots of noise due to cheap stabilizer links by honda on this vehicle!
