Used 2004 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
a night in bad weather
I have purchased a 2003 pilot with leather, it is heavy and great handling, 1 experience i had was in the night i found my self heading for a foot of water and when i hit this water at 40 miles per hour, this pilot handled it very well, no pulling to the left or right it handled the situation perfectly, like no other car i drove. this auto is safe in all weather conditions.
Happy w/Honda
After many comparisons between the Pilot, Forerunner & Highlander-- the Pilot won. Ultimately it seemed to be the most functional for my needs, in all kinds of weather. It feels stable and solid. The automatic all wheel drive was a decisive factor, along with the safety rating, and the Honda reputation of reliability.

Decent, Roomy SUV
I bought the Pilot because I occasionally need the function of a third row seat and I sought AWD for winter driving in the mountains. I looked at Toyota's '04 4Runner with the optional 3rd row seats and Ford's Explorer. I almost bought the Toyota but with the difference in interior room and better seating, the Honda seemed a better choice. The Explorer was a different story; I could not find one optioned the way I wanted and none of the dealerships I went to were interested in finding one. I am only into the 2nd week of ownership and so far fairly pleased.
Better Than I Expected
I initially had a problem with the fuel injection relay, but was treated with great customer service and follow- up. Since that first problem, I have experienced nothing but pleasure in owning the Pilot. I looked at the Rainer, Murano, 4Runner, XC90, Pathfinder and X5 but would not trade for any of them. It is deceptively large and roomy with sliding second row seats. The ride is extremely quiet and smooth. And, most surprisingly, it takes regular unleaded saving a ton at the pump. I purchased the vehicle because we are expecting a child and I wasn't ready for a mini-van. This was the perfect choice for me and my wife.
OUTSTANDING
I bought this honda pilot in Feb 2003 i drive an average of 40 miles a day to work and i live way out in the country and this SUV is the best i have ever owned. Gas mileage is not the best but SUV's arent known for gas mileage. Great SUV.
