The Ultimate Accord

The Accord suffix was dropped after a slight re-design in 2013, but the genetic relation to Honda's best selling sedan remains strong. Fit, finish, and quality, are excellent! The Crosstour is more like a "Super Accord" that has a beefier structure and higher road clearance. The suspension was raised to mimic a small SUV, but don't get it confused with an off-road vehicle. I'm sure the raised height will aid in deep snow and muddy country roads, but don't try to drive over a hefty log blocking your path. The rear hatch compartment with fold down seats will allow you to transport larger items but less room for extra passengers. Rear cargo room with the seats up is good, but not remarkable.

My husband and I wanted to upgrade to a larger, safer, 4-door vehicle. We looked at smaller SUVs and station wagons. In fact, we almost bought the Subaru Outback 3.6R, however the gas mileage was not impressive at all. Our FJ Cruiser gets better gas mileage than that. And the quality was...ok. We happened to pass by a Honda dealership and seen the Crosstour out front. I had to test it out and to my surprise, it was everything we wanted and more. What a comfortably smooth ride! I have been averaging 23-27 mpg, depending on traffic. The interior is incredibly comfortable and the looks of Crosstour is very sleek. I feel like I am driving a very expensive, luxury car.

I had a 2010 Crosstour and now have a 2014 - the first time I have ever bought the same model twice. The comfort, quietness and practicality are compelling. Try as I might, I couldn't find another vehicle that fit my needs as well. The interior is upcale enough for clients and the backseat comfort and leg room are outstanding. Chicago winters demand all-wheel drive. I use the speaker phone a lot and the Active Sound Control provides a very quiet cabin. Unlike many SUVs, my bicycle can be stored in the back without the seat down, plus it's out of sight. Gear fits cleanly into the floor storage compartment. Good acceleration and over 30 mpg highway.

It took me awhile to wrap my head around the fact that Honda is putting out a better product than Audi & BMW. Honda seems to have overbuilt the Crosstour to ensure it would attract the attention that it is getting. No flaws. A shame Honda stopped making them. They will become collector cars with a certain group.

Great drivetrain. v6, 4 wheel drive. Lots of power for mountain driving. Mileage consistently 30+ mpg on mid grade fuel. The ECO mode is a fantastic idea for gas mileage; it is seamless. Traction is excellent in snowy, icy conditions (ski country Colorado). I have tested it on steep roads with deep snow and it pulls nicely from a dead stop once the rear wheel drive system engages. Very smooth and comfortable to drive. Seat comfort is OK; headrests don't fit me well. Turning radius not great, but OK. The engineers/marketing department need to get together and do consumer testing on future driver interfaces. I like the looks of the car (some reviewers do not), and most people I ask do also. The sloped rear deck gets poor cosmetic reviews on BMW and Mercedes also. Appreciate Michelin tires, good quality interior materials, Right side mirror camera is a fantastic safety feature. Has been a trouble free car.

How could a guy who's used to Cadillacs and Corvettes end up with a Honda Crosstour? Believe me, I've heard this more than once from friends and Family. I'm actually a little surprised myself. But the plain truth is this... Cadillacs just aren't Cadillacs anymore and Corvettes are priced higher than my first house... And I'm not THAT old. I went looking for a new car for <$30K. What I found, after going from dealer to dealer, was this... They all looked alike... Ford, Chevy, Toyota... It didn't matter... They all ran together in my head like a myriad of counting sheep. Then it happened... Driving north on I-75 one Saturday afternoon... I'm clipping along at a speed slightly higher than the

Love My Honda Crosstour

I decided to downsize after driving SUV's for many years. The hatchback makes for an easier transition. I owned a Honda Accord Coupe many years ago, but did not like the new style. I am so glad I found the Crosstour. This car looks great, sporty but still a four door. I am shocked at the reviews criticizing the look. I looked at the Lexus and the Infiniti, but didn't really want to purchase high octane fuel. I don't drive my personal vehicle to work. It's so fun to drive, I can't wait for the weekend so I can get in my Crosstour and go! I love that there are not very many of them on the road right now. I absolutely love this car.

I can't ever say with all of the cars that I've owned that I found and owned one that is chic, sporty, unique and as eclectic as this particular vehicle. It's a bit deceiving because you're actually driving an SUV but you really don't know that it's an SUV. I have so many people asking me, what kind of car is that! They're very surprised that it's a Honda. Many think it's a BMW. I love everything about this vehicle. Everything!

Let me just get a couple of pet peeves out of the way. My Crosstour, which is the top of line and loaded, has no outside temperature gauge on the center screen or instrument cluster. Only way I can get it is by selecting a certain mode on the teeny-weeny odometer display. Come on..... Also, I've had many cars over a couple of decades. But this is the FIRST one that doesn't have a low washer fluid warning light. Seriously..... My first car, 1987 Mazda RX-7, and every car since then has had it. But not my top of the line 2014 Crosstour. I was baffled and do carry a bottle of washer fluid in the storage bin just in case. Having gotten over these 2 issues, honestly, I like the car overall. Looks are different. But at least you won't bump into one around every corner like the standard Accord. It doesn't particularly do anything really well, but it does a decent job all around. Comfortable 5 people seating, good pick-up when called for, AWD kicks in when needed, ride is pretty compliant, won't leave you stranded, reasonable maintenance cost, runs on regular, not bad MPG for its size and weight, at 50K miles original tires still have plenty of life, good visibility (rear will take getting used to), decent trunk space (although rear tire wells do limit width), adequate safety features. Since they've discontinued the model, never mind improvements. But if you're looking for a pre-owned sample of one of these, I'd say it's a pretty sound choice.

Great value - quality

I recently puchased a used Certified 2013 Crosstour with 33000 miles. Honda made a big mistake when they decided to discontinue this one! First, 95% of the owner reviews are very positive. People come up and say what kind of Honda is it and they've never seen it. Other owners tell you how happy they are with it when you bump into them. On top of all of that, it has Honda quality. I've previously owned a Toyota Highlander, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes, and every type of high end American Car. I like the Honda Crosstour the best. Hidden storage area, easy parking, great ride, great economy. I am totally happy about everything except one thing. The 2013 didn't have the modern navigator and voice call recognition that I had with my 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited. Honda should come up with more modern after-market radios to upgrade the limited radio/telephone/navigation system. As far as existing sound quality, it's already fabulous. Great purchase for anyone!

I like hatchbacks and station wagons. There, I said it. My psychosis is put out there for all to revile. From my Dad's first 1960 Buick Invicta station wagon until today, hatchbacks and station wagons catch my eye. The only view of this five door hatchback I find less than attractive is the rear end. The front is sporty and aggressive, the profile is sharp and very attractive. From behind it looks like some weird little Euro-poofer. But, it's a fast and sporty car with utility in the hatchback. It's not fancy and it's not "luxurious". Sporty is what it's all about. I have the 3.5 liter 6 with 4WD (not AWD, actual 4WD) and all the tech, including a right-side-mirror lane monitoring camera (I LOVE THAT). The only complaint, and really, it is the only complaint, is the driver's seat (so therefore, presumably all of the seats) is hard. But it's that sporty kind of hard for taking fast, sharp curves, etc. It's well designed, built, and bolstered but it ain't a plush Buick chair. Mostly, I am okay with that. It has 278HP and accelerates faster than my 2003 Audi A4. It's as much fun to drive as the Audi and it can carry a heck of a lot more stuff home from Home Depot! On the highway, the Cylinder Management kicks in and goes from 6 cylinders to 3 and gets 28mpg for long cruises. I can use the cargo space for many large things. For 8 out of 10 utility things, it works fine. I've had almost 500 lbs of gardening supplies (e.g., huge bags of soil, fertilizer, umpteen stepping stones, small landscaping timbers, etc. A LOT OF STUFF, to the ceiling and from the hatch to driver's set back) in the back end at one time with no problem and it didn't seem to impact the handling. It's a Honda Accord, in essence, so you know it's reliable as heck. I've had it four years and haven't had one second of problems. One irksome little issue is the KEY FOB dash lite seems to come a lot - but NOT when it's at the Honda dealer for service. Hasn't been a problem but it's irritating. Many think it's funny looking but let me tell you, it's funny looking all the way to the bank (and quickly). SOLD THE CROSSTOUR IN APRIL 2017 AND GOT $19000 IN TRADE.

Just perfect!

I bought my used 2013 Crosstour (27,100 miles on the odometer) to replace my old Civic because we needed a larger vehicle. Cargo space is just perfect for my wife and I (no kids). Rear visibility is a bit compromised, but that is the only demerit, which is alleviated with the backup camera. The car accelerates great for a 4 cylinder! Fuel consumption is good for a car this size. And it looks like nothing else out there. I have owned Mustangs, Camaros, a Subaru WRX and a few other exotic looking cars, but I never had one where I go to the garage just to look at it. Not that many of them on the road and judging by m research, it holds on to its value really well. Plus, it's an Accord for all intents and purposes, so parts are plentiful and inexpensive. I have a bad back, and the height of the vehicle makes getting in and out very easy on my back. A great car to own!

Bigger than it looks

I bought this car because of its enormous trunk capacity (even without putting the rear seats down), and Honda reliability. It scores well on both counts. I opened the hatch to show a friend, and he said, "Man, you could have party in there!" :) The 2.4L and auto trans work well together, and it has enough acceleration to get by. The ride is comfortable and relatively quiet. My only complaints are of personal preference. I'm used to slightly smaller cars, and this one is bigger than it looks. The long wheelbase needs a wider radius for a U-turn than I'm accustomed to. This and other 2013 Hondas are behind the times, lacking dashboard computer displays of mpg and miles to empty that have been around for years. The Crosstour is cool, but my next will be a Civic hatchback.

I am so pleased that I bought this vehicle. I have been a Honda owner since 1998, and this car by far surpasses my expectations. It's roomy like an SUV but drives/handles like a car. The sideview and back up camera are my favorite feature. This car is well worth the money and the value holds up. The inside of this vehicle is just as luxurious as my BMW, but with half the expenses.

This Crosstour was a choice my wife made to replace her 2005 Accord that she has owned since new (which now has 324,000 miles on it!). After 2 months of looking she decided on this one, she chose very well. Quality and comfort, she loves every detail. She uses all the technology on this car including hands free, navigation, side view and rear view cameras, lane departure warning, and the list goes on. This car has get-up-and-go when you want it and gets 31 mpg when cruising on the highway. She has no regrets in buying this car.

Looked at Venza and subaru. Both were good vehicles, but glad I ended up with the crosstour. Venza ride seemed a little rough and a outback with v6 was more expensive. For the money the crosstour just seemed more luxurious. After driving my wifes es350 i wanted a car with a better ride. Loved the car like ride with the ability to still haul some things. I look forward to a little drive now. Stereo is great and love the feel behind the wheel of this car. I like the look of it and love the ride. Honda sold as many of these in 13 that subaru sold some months. So less out there and way more unique. 3 times as many venzas out there also. Im 6'4" and have plenty of room behind the wheel. Hope it last me a while!! Got to drive it to appreciate it. If you can find a nice used one don"t hesitate to check it out!

Versatile ride with great gas mileage

I’m a Honda girl, so I’m a little biased. My last two new Hondas were Accord sedans. This time, I decided to get the 2013 Honda Crosstour in Mountain Aire, which is a beautiful color blue. I love the versatility of the car — with the pull of a handle, one of the back seats folds flat, and if you pull the other handle, the other back seat folds down flat, making it a mini SUV. I fit five medium pet carriers back there for vet visits and during a hurricane evacuation. I like the deck height at the rear of the car. When you open the hatchback, you can slide things in and out at a comfortable height. If I drive right, I can get 39 miles to the gallon, which is exceptional, considering the size and weight of the car. The car has several upscale features, such as a camera in the passenger side sideview mirror, so you can see traffic in your blind spot. I ordered the E-XL model, which has navigation and leather seats. The driver seat has an eight-way power adjustable seat. The front passenger seat has a six-way power adjustable seat. It has many personalization options, such as whether or not to beep your horn when you lock the car with the key fob, which interior lights, if any, you want to come on when you open the doors, which doors you want unlocked when you hit the unlock button on the key fob, and the rearview mirror will automatically aim down when backing up, and you can choose at any time which one you want to aim down - left or right. All in all, it’s a great car. I’ve had it for 10 years and I don’t plan on replacing it anytime soon.

The Honda Crosstour is quite different from the Accord and still based on the previous Accord model. That means the dash, seats, etc are from the older model. Not a big issue but one thing is just plain ridiculous for a car of this statue and price and that is the fact that there is no outside temp on the EX. Really? Even my daughter's PT cruiser has that. Perhaps not a big deal for some, but if I had known when test driving the car... I would probably not have purchased it. Most frustrating thing about this car is the power or better lack of power. It accelerates like a turtle. It only starts increasing speed at higher revs. It is at times actually dangerous when changing lanes for example when quick acceleration is demanded. It simply does not happen. It does not change gears fast enough depending on speed of the car... for example, when driving 20-30 miles an hour and you want to quickly accelerate to overtake someone or change lanes, the car just responds very slowly which can be dangerous. Of course the car drives easily at higher speeds, no problem there, except getting there takes longer than you would expect. The car does provide a comfortable interior with ample space and it is nice that you have a 5th door... i.e. a hatchback. It is easy to drop the rear seats and the extra space is nice if you have dogs for example. The seats are firm and perhaps not to everyone's liking. My wife simply hates the seats and wants to go back to a Nissan which seats are much more comfortable for her. I am OK. I actually drove the car cross country up to 800 miles a day without any problem or fatigue. So this may be a personal preference. Do try the car out on a longer test drive.

After having a BMW X5 for the last 5 years, loving the power, hating the maintenance costs, loving the handling, hating how it chewed up tires, I'd had enough. That BMW cost me more in maintenance and repairs than it did in price. I paid double what I originally bought the car for over the 5 years. So, I wanted something that could give me the power on demand, the comfort and ride and FINALLY some reliability in the engine and overall car. After test driving several cars, I found what fit the bill -- the Honda Crosstour EX-L. It's a bit smaller, but it still offers room for some of my toys in the back without having to go full pickup. Yet, it jumps off the line (with a little skeetch to the tires) when I need it to jump. It gives me so much better gas mileage and it's cheaper to fill up (regular instead of BMW premium required gas) and it's nimble and quick in handling. Sometimes it's too quick and I'm not used to that type of response yet. It may not be as sexy as the X5, but it's a pleasing look with lines similar to many higher priced sports models out on the road. It's my first Japanese car, but it probably won't be the last UNLESS this car lasts as long as they tell me it can.

Just bought "13" Crosstour. It was the only car that filled all our needs. Build quality is flawless. We are first time Honda owners. Loaded with tech goodies that all work as they are supposed to work, not like Ford's MY Touch by MicroCrap and GM's gouge you every month OnStar. If you are not a race driver "want a be" and don't want to spend 50k on a Benz or BMW show me a car that does what the Crosstour does without breaking a sweat. Just had the first repair and it was brakes...rears had issue due to lack of lubricant on calipers causing corrosion. Front had the typical rotor warping....it is high time that car companies stop using cheap rotors. Other than those issues the car runs like a new car. The AWD is the reason I bought the car and it is great!! Still going and a great car all around.!!

Coming from an older accord this is a nice transition, without going to big and boxy SUV. Particularly like the blue dash lights, large nav screen, xm buttons, darkened rear windows, 3 view rear camera, right side camera on demand, safety rating. Banking on Honda reliability I've had in past. Update:. Vehicle is still fine. haven't figured out the best way to transport a medium dog safely with no scratched seats.

I knew the vehicle I wanted when I walked into the dealership and the dealership in its own right is a whole different ball of wax nor do I wish to elaborate. The Crosstour has better handling than I expected from other reviewers though not as good as the 2011 accord which I also own. Four wheel drive I learned by the way does not mean you can go over 60 on ice and snow and not expect to spin out. The car did manage to right itself again when in a 200 yard skid over ice and snow as I realized the safe alternative would have been to travel at like 40 give or take in the first place. I didn't hit anyone or anything fortunately as the thoughts were going through my head, "please not the mail box, and I don't see anyone in front or behind me!" I have had it off road and it can get frustrating in thicker mud as it seems to clump and traction seems a little less (with no dents or scratches). It seems to have good cargo space as I am able to fit my string bass in the back and the seats all to easily come down. I also like the cabin as it reminds me of my old 1979 toyota celica supra with a lot more comfort. The ride is very good with little or no distortion over bumps or rough road. As with any car I recommend Sea Foam gas and oil treatment every 3 - 6 months.

Just bought my 2013 crosstour and love it. It drives well and has plenty of room. It's quiet inside and has a very smooth ride. The heated leather are great.

Severe Floor Board Shake - hesitation

This is our second V6 AWD crosstour. We have a severe floor board shake at 22mph- 30mph. If you in stop and go traffic - the car will even hesitate along with shaking the floorboards and gas pedal. This is a major design flaw and it's much worse in normal drive then in S drive - using the paddle shifters. The car also shakes real hard at 70-78mph on the highway as - tires are balanced This is a Engine and or Transmission design flaw. Had it in our 2010 and now worse in our 2013 - The put the VCM in the Acura RDX and people are complaining about the same problem. I'm just waiting for something to break loose under the hood and cause a accident. HONDA FIX YOUR MAJOR DESIGN FLAW

It’s an ample car inside and very economically friendly in gas, specially in highways. I have kept it well maintained therefore it’s performance has been excellent.

My first Honda. The transmission has a very annoying high pitched whine that the radio cannot drown out. After numerous complaints and trips to the dealer Honda does nothing. I’ve driven 3 other Honda’s of the same model and they didn’t have the whine that mine does. Only Honda has serviced the car and my rear brakes are totally worn out but my front brake pads have 85% of there original thickness. Seems very strange.

This car was great! The cargo space was super. I could put so much in it when I moved. With the back seats down it was almost like having a minivan. The ride was also super. On long trips it didn't wear you out. The only reason I traded it was because it was getting hard to get out with my bad knee and back.

2014 Crosstour V6-AWD purchased 11/2019 48k miles

Driven 1,500 miles so far. Very pleased with car, performance, HWY fuel economy measured 28-30 mpg with cruise set at 74 mph trip from Dayton to Chicago. The V6 has cylinder deactivation that works seamlessly. Very comfortable seats, The lane monitoring and front collision warning systems work well (provide beep alerts, no automatic braking though and can be adjusted for sensitivity). Seats fold flat and with release lever on top or separate lever in hatch area. Around town depending on how aggressive I drive I've gotten 15-22 mpg. Like that it has temporary spare. My previous AWD Sienna van had run flat tires and no spare. Appreciate that the Crosstour has 6.2" of clearance, but not as tall as CRV or Pilot. Great acceleration when I need it. It was a few thousand less than similar equipped used Outbacks and Foresters. Really quiet ride, Happy with purchase.

Great Station wagon. Excellent room front and rear, responsive engine and smooth shifting transmission. I purchased a set of Michelin MXM4s just after buying it and the handling improved greatly. Excellent in rain or snow, I have the EX-L V6.

Make sure you're coming comfortable in this car, that's one of the only things I don't like about it, and the reason I would sell it, its not a fun car to drive, point A to B. At nothing more, the power..yes only the v6, I wish mine was AWD it may make a difference in performance significantly,
