A Rip for the pice
Never again a Honda CR-V. Tires need replacing at 31,000, noisy ride down the highway, no sound insulation and no power with a small 4 cyl eng. With the small engine you would expect gas milage in excess of 25 mpg and not 22, which is what we average, which is mostly hwy driven.
Poor plastic choice for interior
The plastic used in the interior is easily scratched. The luxury model lacks many common feature such as automatic headlights or lumbar support for the passenger. The sun visor does not keep the sun out very well. My wife hates this vehicle. I do not recommend this model.

Happy Customer
My husband wanted to buy a Rav4/V6. But I liked the CRV & we bought an 08'EX AWD. After 45,000 miles in 2 years, my hubby likes the CRV, a lot. We live in San Francisco, we have driven to the Grand Canyon, Seattle, Yosemite & many ski trips to Lake Tahoe. Lots of space for my dog, gear, friends & my hubby. The power is more than adequate. On long climbing hills, the engine RPM is steady and the VTEC kicks in to keep a steady speed. We drove through a bad snow storm in Lake Tahoe and I could feel the AWD kicking in many times to keep the vehicle steady & safe. The only problem are the stock tires, they are very NOISY. Looking forward to many more trips in the CRV.
I love my CR-V!
When the CR-V got redesigned in 2007, I wanted it. I finally got rid of my 12 yr. old gas guzzling V-8 Jeep and got my beautiful Glacier Blue 2008 CR-V EXL. I thought about a RAV4 but loved the fact that the EXL had everything I wanted standard (leather heated seats, moon roof) and the tire was not on the back. The back gate lifts up with one finger and there is plenty of room to haul things. I can't rave about the gas mileage in town because I drive in stop and go traffic to work, but on the highway I have gotten over 20+ miles per gallon. The stereo is amazing with the subwoofer and 6 CD changer--you can really blast your favorite music! The windshield wipers are so big and powerful.
Love my CRV but not the gas mileage
Did not like previous CRV models so thought about a Rav4. After a few trips with a friend, chose the CRV; inside feels more upscale and spacious and the area is bigger. My only addition is something only Ford seems to use now; keyless number pad on the door. Only complaint is gas mileage. I avg 22 mpg at best when I combine 50% short trips (2 to 5) and a 50% hwy trips (20 each way). Even when I drove 120 miles each way on a trip, I barely got 25mpg (is it my luggage rack or me?) My last car, a Toyota Avalon V6, averaged 22 and 27. As for complaints about accelerating on to hwys and or passing; even w/5 adults the car was quick. Maybe other reviewers had > 850 lbs in car (weight max).
