Used 2003 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
Made in England
Assembled in Great Britain first strike worse car for repairs I ever had . 5 warrantee recalls for cables ignition key can't remember them all. 3 throttle bodies replaced, and a/c under warrantee so no cost, in az. U need a/c. Bought it primarily to tow behind rv ,for that it was great . Mileage good acceleration so,so. Kind of a slug. Still have it after 13 years so all the problems were tollererable . And will get another one it's perfect for my wife. had the o-2 sensor replaced car running like new . a/c struggling in the 100+ heat in Az. Recently sold it for $3500 still running great new owners love it

Long live the 2003 CRV!
I bought this car used with 155k on it. Now has up over 200k with no major issues except the exhaust needed to be replaced. Watch out for that if you live on the east coast where there is a lot of salt on the roads. One year is how long the catalytic lasted before it suddenly clogged up and actually prevented the car from being driven. Otherwise, the engine is smooth, mpg is 30+ in my manual. Seats are a little more comfortable than the cardboard ones in the 2000 crv my mom owned for ten years. In comparison, the 2003 has the little things I thought the 2000 CRV lacked. Button positions, knobs or dials being different, slightly different setup of the middle console. It feels better and I like the design more. However the EBrake in mine is a little confusingly placed. Both my husband and I had a hard time figuring out where it was at first. After getting used to the odd location I actually found it nice? I have no complaints about this car and intend to maintain it for years to come. Apparently the original owner (I am #3) worked for Honda and loved them. He or She made this CRV custom tailored to their needs and kept it well maintained. They added little things I wanted like brighter headlights, light bar, dvd players and touchscreen gps radio. It makes this rather dated car by todays standards feel brand new. Honestly if and when this car goes, I will replace it with another one. It has been a great car that is safe and reliable. I never use AC so I have not ever had an issue with mine that I know of. I would maybe use it once or twice a year max.

Bad Apple from the Honda Tree
The day we drove off the lot and started driving our shiny new EX on the highway I tested the cruise control. It wasn't working. Had to leave the car with the dealer for 2 days to fix. Then within 8 months had 3 recalls on this . At 18000 had to get new brakes and at 26000 new tires. At 78,000 2 of my engine mounts broke which affected the axles. So for $750 got that fixed (by my mechanic), the dealer told me that it will cost me $1,600. Now I have to replace the bushings. Its been not a good experience owning this vehicle. By the way most of the driving is highway and local. I wouldn't dream of taking this offroad. Never recommending a Honda product to my worst enemies (or friends).
