Where has the Honda of old gone?
I at one time was a die hard Honda fan. I owned a 1991 CRX, and a 1994 Civic. Both were solid dependable cars. I purchased a 2000 Accord new, and it turned out to be a lemon. I mean literally, I received a payout from Honda on a frequent problem. I decided in 2008 to give Honda another chance, after all, my previous cars were great. Should not have done it. I purchased a new 2008 Accord. Problems started with the transmitters having to be replaced, I needed new rear break pads and a new battery before the car hit 30K. The interior is cheap. The vinal on the console arm rest and door arm rest bubbles up when it is warm outside. Never again Honda, I'm going elsewhere.
Regretted buying at first...
To be completely honest the first four months i had this car were torture and i didn’t realize that the 3.5L V6 (which i bought) accords from this year were trouble. I did a ton of research and eventually purchased a VCM tuner. The car is AMAZING to drive now. If you are having trouble with your V6 accord with eco mode i highly recommend getting one. It shouldn’t of been a problem to deal with in the first place but i’m content with the car now. rattles are excessive but i just stuffed some foam tape in the rear deck and it’s fine. Buying used I’m content with my purchase, but i understand why the people who bought the car new were very irritated. Sound system is great, i love the leather seats, my model with navigation seems very ahead of its time and i honestly cant tell the car is from 2008. i plan on maintaining this car well and I think it’ll just keep running.

Solidly reliable, but with some quirks
While this car has overall been very good to me over the years, it does have its quirks. It goes through brakes quicker than comparable cars and has oil consumption tendencies at higher mileage. The road noise and fuel efficiency are decent but not all the great by today’s standards. The car definitely shows its age at this point. Beyond these issues though, the car has proven to be a very reliable A to B car with no major complications in the 8 or so years ( ~150k miles) I’ve owned it. If you are looking for an older but more affordable daily driver car in this segment, I can recommend this. However before considering the 2008 model, I would have to also recommend taking a look at either the late 7th gen models (2006-2007) or the later 8th gen models (2010-2012) of the accord when they ironed out some of the common issues the vehicles had at the beginning of each generation. All in all, this era of accords are solid cars with great durability that will last quite a long time if properly maintained

Owned many Hondas, second Accord
Purchased my 2008 Accord EX-L sedan, 4-cyl, 5-speed automatic new in March 2008. It now has 130,000 miles on it and has been just a reliable as the 2002 Accord EX I had previously. Had the rear brakes replaced with the "new" Honda brake pads and have not had any issues. While it is not the perfect car, it has been very reliable, just like the 2002 was before. Had the complete service done at 105,000 miles and it runs like new. Not the quietest car, but the right tires make all the difference when it comes to road noise. I cannot justify replacing it, it runs too well.
