Purchased new in February 2010 loved the car at first started having loud ticking noise.Took it to dealer they said it was a.high pressure fuel pump. In side of 4years they replaced a chain in front of motor since then just minor issues recalls for minor problems. Now April dealer rebuilt engine due to high oil consumption 4 months later transmission would bang when shifting at times.Took into a tranny shop was told this is a well known issue with 2010/2011 terrains and equinox’s GM is turning blind to issue.well tranny let go now I have a $4000.00 repair Gm will give no help. I will be dumping this and my2011 equinox to bad I just bought a colorado hope that has better quality. Update Now have 106,457 miles no issues for last 13,000 miles still would love to find class action lawsuit over the poor transmission.

Not for the Interstate Hwys

Not Hills, 10/12/2010

The 4 cyl Terrain lacks power to use cruise control on Interstate Hwys if there are any hills at all. The Tach will goes from 2000 to 4000 and roar like hell on any little rise. In town and on flat land highways it performs fine. It is comfortable for driving and looks fine. I suggest, however, if you can afford the extra dollars, buy the 6 cyl.

2010 GMC Terrain SLT-1 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

This car handles very nicely, gives a comfortable and quiet ride, and, so far at least, mileage is better than advertised (33.5 mpg in mixed driving during rush hour, but I am a careful driver). Utilitarian, yet stylish and fun to drive! Lots of room in the back seat.

Rides and handles well. Comfortable and roomy. Easy to get in and out of. Surprisingly good performance for a small motor. Drove at interstate speeds and through mountains with 24 mpg avg. (using own calculations). Car has good Visibility.Secure feeling with all the safety features.

Do not purchase any GMC product. The quality of their autos is poor. Customer service is even worse. I have been lied too and put off by company concerning complaints and issues. Not a reputable company at all.
