Used 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Consumer Reviews
Would take this over a Ford any day
This is my second GMC HD truck, and the imrpovements are too many to mention. This is by far, the best looking truck on the road. I'm averaging around 15 mpg around town and recently got 19 mpg on the highway going 85 with 2800lbs in the bed. GMC builds the best looking, most reliable, most fun to drive pick up trucks on the road.
It Seems Like a Keeper
I just bought a 2009 GM 2500 with the Duramax/Allison combo. Been with Ford all my driving life. So far, a great truck. Excellent power, very quiet and greater than 20 mpg on highway when unloaded. Seems tightly made. 2008 F250 previously; a great truck but physically too large for my needs. GMC offers similar towing performance, better mileage so far and a better ride in a physically smaller package-- with diesel power. Overall, I think the GMC offering is the top overall in the 2500/250 line for daily use/driving. I was not impressed with Dodge quality; my Ford was great but meant for wide open, all day towing. GMC offered the best package with the fewest comprimises. Very happy so far.

Shake your money maker
Really a great purchase and totally paid for itself. Should be 4.5 stars because she left me stranded once, and GM build quality was 3 stars. Really low maintenance, materials are 6 stars. Rustproofed and still solid. The failures cracked exhaust manifold, bent when built hydraboost tube which cause a hard to find mini-leak. Eaton 3:73 carrier housing cracked when I was backing uphill with 3ton trailer at lockup transition from ice to dry pavement. Transmission left me stranded @ 116k miles. Transmission shop said he had never seen friction plates loose all surface material. I towed 3tons daily but never beat my GMC. It handles straight & true, ride is solid, none of the wavy feel I found in competitors HDs. Cheap tires tires don't last, get Michelin, Generals, BFGs. She's a WT, and in hindsight, I would opted for a SLT. She's been to Canada to Georgia and most places between, sometimes with my family in secure comfort.

Great looking truck
Needed the longer 6.5 bed, so went with the extended cab, couldn't work with the smaller bed, had a young son that could handle the smaller back seat, now he's grown, so bought a crew with a 6.5 bed. Works for me !

Excellent for towing 5th wheel
I loved this truck the first time I test drove it ... I was used to Fords and could certainly feel the GMC was higher quality. One of the best trucks I've ever had! Been to over 20 states with over 200k miles ....no problems.
