Faulty Technology and Sluggish Performance

2020 Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van XLT 4dr Minivan w/Rear Liftgate SWB (2.0L 4cyl 8A)

I've had my 2020 Ford Transit Connect for about 18 months now. Overall, it has performed fairly well. It is certainly under-powered and the transmission has the typical Ford sluggish shifting. My main concern with this vehicle is the abundance of technology that has been very problematic. I recently had a blowout to my front right tire, and it practically destroyed the front end of the vehicle, which affected the lane sensor cable, steering assist and pre-collision system. It just went to the shop again this week for a wiring short in the mapping system (whatever that is) and thought the engine was going to crumble. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle, and would not recommend.

Perfectly Happy, But Not Without Flaws

2020 Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van XL 4dr Minivan w/Rear 180 Degree Doors LWB (2.0L 4cyl 8A)

We've been driving the 2020 Connect XL 2.0L Cargo for 3 years now and it hasn't been without it's flaws. We've cracked the windshield twice in less than 4 months, So is the windshield prone to cracking?. Our main dislike is the seats. But we've been able to correct this with the use of 50mm skateboard wheels placed under the front seat frame rails. This lifts the rear of the seat and moves if forward. Doing this, levels the seat area. Our main goal is to create a sports van by upgrading the suspension. Upgrading parts like the Bilstein B6 Struts, Bilstein B6 shocks, Super-pro Volvo end links, Hardrace 28mm sway bar and Cobra coil springs. Then to add in 19'' Axe wheels with 245/40 Nokian tires. Going from the stock 16'' wheel with 215/55 to 19'' 245/40 has made a big difference in the handling and performance of the van. Plus it didn't hurt adding a drop in K&N air filter and performance NGK sparkplugs. Personal touches like adding diamond tucked carbon filer to the door panel blanks as well as a custom dash cover and seat covers. Current fuel economy is 24 City 27 Highway

No problems- Great mileage!

33,000 miles so far, with 0 issues. I'm an "easy driver", and have got as much as 34 mpg on the road without a/c,and 30 with. I get 29 in town, and 27 with. It came with an amazing amount of standard features such as remote start etc. I use it primarily As a work truck and for camping. It was a little bit bouncier than my previous Chrysler minivan, but it has work truck suspension. Overall I love it!

Small cargo van with car-like features & comfort

Traded in the Ford C-Max I loved for the ability to move 100 miles without paying movers. The Ford Transit Connect XLT has the cargo space I need for large items, yet has the comfort and features (tire pressure monitoring, electric mirrors, built-in navigation...) I've become accustomed to...only wish the gas mileage was more like what I was getting from my Ford C-Max.

This vehicle is an absolute nightmare to drive especially on the highway. The transmission is sluggish and you get in your own way. The AC will turn off when you cut the vehicle off so when you turn it back on the AC doesn't blow until you switch it off and on again. The windshield is obnoxiously too large and if you are facing the sun prepare to get baked because even the sun visors won't protect you. I hate this vehicle with a passion.
