Made the switch to American.
After 20+ years of driving mostly Lexus and Toyota, I finally made the switch back to an American car. My Taurus has been both a pleasant and a surprising experience. This is a solid, quiet car, with fantastic handling and turning. It is loaded with creature comforts. I had considered a BMW, but many of the options with my Taurus weren't available, or pushed the cost beyond what I was willing to pay. The interior is plush and comfortable. The sync systems makes almost everything hands free for safety. I am pleased to say this is an American car that competes quite nicely with foreign makers!
Comfort, space, and quality. What's not to love?
The 2011 Ford Taurus has proven to be incredibly reliable, easy and inexpensive to service, and has a spacious and comfortable ride. The interior is well laid out and easy to reach. Seats 5 full-grown adults adequately and 4 quite comfortably. The trunk is mammoth and yet it also has fold-down rear seats when you need even more space. After two years and 50,000 miles we are still in love with this car. Now, every vehicle has its down-sides and this is no exception. The SYNC bluetooth from 2011 is, honestly, a hot mess. We have had to reset it several times after it locked up and stopped working but it also has a primary and secondary phone protocol and will effectively only allow one to connect at a time. Even my 15 year old $20 car bluetooth speaker phone allows 2 phones to connect simultaneously. Oddly this particular Taurus came with no cup holders up front, only console pockets that we had to buy cup holders to fit at an $80 cost .... While the ride is relatively smooth, it is a bit noisy for a full size sedan.

So So SHO - not reliable
Beautiful vehicle although too many safety issues. Sensor in the engine was bad and it took Ford 3 months to diagnose and repair the problem. The vehicle shuts off randomly and Ford has no solution for repair. Now the roof leaks. Not a happy Ford customer at this time. My SHO is a lemon!
2011 Ford Taurus Limited
Just bought a used Taurus Limited with 29K miles. Was an Enterprise rental. In absolutely new condition inside and out. Ford dealer had it priced at 28K but got it for 22.9K. Test drove it twice. Bested the new 2011 Fusion that I also test drove. My only complaint is that it is quiet on smooth asphalt & concrete roads but had annoying cabin noise when driving over rough asphalt/concrete, bumps, and rough dirt roads. Tire noise & every little bump could be heard. All functions worked perfectly. Backup camera display in rearview mirror is excellent. Backup warning also great. So far, love this car despite the cabin noise.
Traded in my worn out old girl for a fantastic one
After 14 years of dependability on my 2001 Ford Taurus SEL I went and got a 2011 Taurus Limited with 86 thousand miles on it and although it's only been a few days I am amazed at the quality of my new car my wife and I went for a ride in it yesterday and ended up putting 160 miles on it just wanted to keep driving it the interior is awesome the trunk space I wish I had that much space back when I was younger sneaking people into the drive in lol but am totally happy with the ride the quiet interior it's a beautiful car I hope it gives me many years of dependability as my 01 did great job ford well after having my 2011 for 3 years now have nothing but good things to say about my Taurus have not had a single problem with it still rides and looks like new did change out water pump just for PM still very happy with my choice
